the question is truly mind-bending....where IS the ceiling on a restored/original 40? what has caused them to become "the collector car" of the moment?

I mean seriously, Barret Jackson and others took collector cars to a new level when that first MOPAR broke the $300k ceiling and it went up for 10 years, but now with kit cars and placing certain muscle cars out of reach for even serious collectors they have fallen dramatically.

We could be on the front end of a 5-10 year run......Hey Rob, ill split profits with you, restore my 71 and we will take it to auction ;)

If I could weld and understood wiring and could paint and could...well you get the idea....i'd be building 40s as college funds right now!!!

If you cover the parts up front I will provide the labor and the shop and we can split the proceeds.

If I wasn't going the opposite direction with my truck I would be all over this offer.

My truck needs ALOT: disc brakes, body work, 4 speed, clutch/rear main, side cover gasket, oil pan gasket, AC/Radio, operating windshield wipers, electrical overhaul........

But, you all ready knew all that!

Shush if you ever buy another 40 I volunteer to help you make the best choice. I have never seen another guy buy a truck that needs as much s*** as your 2 40's have. Jeezzz. Just sayin...

I may take you up on that next Spring....

My NEW list is:
76 and up
Disc brakes
4 speed
no more than 2 inch lift/ little to no mods
power steering
amby doors
no rust
I'm amassing funds now and have realized doubling my cruiser budget is the key to escaping the "great truck to trail ride or restore" that "OR RESTORE" part is what always gets me.

the new term is "TURN KEY"....I want one on the road not in Rob's shop (no offense Rob!)

Just get one from Trollhole here on Mud.
