Thanks guys. I'll start soaking in Purple Power and take it to the hi-PO spray car wash on Monday. The parts washer offers are awesome. Let me see how clean I can get them on Monday and make more decisions then.
Years of leaks from the timing cover, side cover, rear main, oil pan, etc have added layer after layer of oil and dirt/mud to the axle. Now that I have all the leaks fixed except the timing cover, and it's front ARB & RCV time, it needs to get cleaned and maybe even painted.
Second, $35k for a truck that you've got to restore? That's crazy. If the mileage is correct that makes it worth more but that kind of money is like already restored money.

Yes bought it a year ago from LA. Have decided a 2f, disc, 4 speed are better for what i want. Id rather buy a redone 40 or have a shop build one than continue with this one that needs alot..... Im in a place with family, work, and lack of knowledge that dictates this makes more sense and cents.

Got my front seats rebuild over the weekend. Took both seats down to the metal frames, sandblasted all parts, POR15 the metal and started reassembling it the next day. The high strength 3M-90 spray adhesive is some great stuff to restore the foam.
Used some tricks I had learned from the upholstery I had done on my wife's 69 beetle. I had purchased a seat bottom from SOR and decided I was not going to use that as I did not like the quality of that foam. So I ended up reusing all my old foam and covered that with a layer of thcik felt to give it more volume and strength.
I think they turned out quite nice. If anyone needs some detailed shots as to how the headrest guides are attached inside the backrest, I can post some of those.
