Hey all,

does anyone know if a 40 series 4 speed will mate to my stock transfer case on my 65 fj45?

Looking at options, as a diesel swap may be near...

Cheers!

Joel

It's pretty easy to mate a pre 8/80 four speed, just needs kit. Later will not work with your 65 transfer case. If you us the F engine you will need to get a four speed bellhousing. The four speed is longer so drivelines will need to be modified. If you go diesel I'm not sure I would run the old transfer case behind the extra torque.

Si!

I've a bell housing, 4spd, mated to a vacuum t-case and drivelines for an FJ40...all for sale, not sure if the drive shaft flanges will mate up to your pinions, but you can work through that.

You'll have to shorten your rear driveline and lengthen the front (the front driveline I have should work for you) as he t-case will end up in the same spot on your 45 as on a 40 relative to the front end.

PM me if interested. shipping will most likely kill the deal.
