Testing the waters for SERIOUS interest in 4 door 45's. These would be RHD (don't get started on LHD) plane Jane gas engine, short bed trucks on the ground in the US for roughly $22500.00. Of course adding options is always available but with more options the cost will increase....long bed, a/c, diesel engine the list goes on. This is a slow process to have the trucks converted and shipping is even slower, but as with any dream well worth the wait. The truck in the photos I will hopefully have at my shop in about four month at witch time it will be getting a 1HZ and a/c.

Where are you shipping them from

Great concept but I would think you should compare the Bundera king cabs and also think about lengthening the frame while taking a left hand drive as the base. Right hand drives have some problems like : the driver being able to see while turning left in the left hand lane, driving a right hand vehicle.
If you need a left hand cowl I'm sure there are suppliers out there.
If you are offering this as a business you should also be prepared to show how you are strengthening the new material and show the quality of your craftsmanship.
Also I wouldn't buy one if the roof didn't come off !
What process is it welded , gauge of metal used - body and under support structure ?
fwiw
interested !

although i have NO ISSUE with RHD vehicles i have to agree with Mac, start with a LHD base.
people in general are afraid of trying new things, playing outside their comfort zone, so with a LHD base your market is going to be much, much bigger.
best of luck in your endeavor.
cheers

Are these coming from South Africa? I recognise the back ground in the pics, I think.
Yeah is this Millas workshop?

Not to be mean but always fun when grown adults can't follow simple instructions that a 1st grade class can do.

I am offering these vehicles up to the very small percentage of folks who are addicted to unique Toyotas like myself.

RHD is what I am offering. I work with several countries in Africa and all vehicles are hand selected. LHD adds cost and time I currently don't have time for as my main work has me scheduled 3+ years out. At the end of the day just remember government employees drive RHD vehicles in all types of traffic conditions...why can't you??? I lent a 75 year old man a RHD vehicle for a 3000 mile journey with no issues and he had never driven one before . Reminds me of the mentality when music CDs first came out people were scared to give up their tapes for something different. Personally I switch back and fourth some times daily from RHD to LHD no problems turning left or passing. Now drive throughs are another challenge.... One in witch I have delight in backing through while the other drivers looked confused. So only RHD the end.

Longer wheel base is an option....but adds cost. Short beds keep stock frames in the event of a big crash are easier to replace then a custom frame.

Not Millas shop... The inside of many shops look similar in this part of the world. But I do only work with shops that have had decades of work with this type of project and most are now using zinc coated steal for all new metal panels so a lot less chance of rust then the factory Toyota metal.

RHD unicorns are what I offer.....if not for you then happy hunting for whatever makes you happy!

"RHD unicorns", perfect description.
best of luck with the idea, I do like the idea.

I wish someone would supply the extension panels turning a 2 door into a 4 door. If you could come out with that kit you could sell world wide.

Scott -
After a new FJ40 around 1979, I seem to be fully addicted to 7X rigs. If that were not the case, a RHD Unicorn as above would be sweet.

After 6 months with the RHD JDM fire truck, I am a convert to the configuration.

Hope you are well during fire season.
