Long day.

I got in the sandblaster today.

I tarped the LV, put the sandblasting pot inside and crawled in with it.

A few bags of media later and it's looking pretty good. I have another bag or so to go, but I needed to clean up a bit to mark with sharpie what still needs to be done. It's tough to see in there.

What a difference 95CFM at 100% duty cycle makes. My cheap pot worked pretty good all day.

Nice, how much sand is in all nooks and crannies....better clean thoroughly before surfing the net. Wouldn't want to chafe.

Day 2 of the sandblasting all done.

Two more pots cleaning up the areas I missed the first time.

Then an hour or so cleaning the shop.

Then a couple of hours with the DA and the right angle die grinder getting the inside roof to bare metal and cleaning up stuff like the window frames.

Good day today.

Finished the three roof line patches on the inside on the driver's side. the one above the rear window wasn't nearly as bad as the one on the right side. Both doors needed patched inside and out. Finished up the roof above the driver's side doors too.

Then a guy came by the shop just as I was leaving. he wanted to throw his car on the hoist real quick, so I started messing with the left corner of the tailgate opening.

2.5 hours later I had the corner all done. 5 separate pieces, all with curves.

Then I cut out the sill below the left tailgate hinge. It was packed with dirt. It'll be an easy patch, but much bigger than I expected. Great design putting that little gap at the end of the sill behind the tires.

No pics today. I forgot my phone at home. I'm going to buy a new camera right after I get done watching the Michigan game.

Looking good!!
tailgate sill looks pretty straight. Wish mine was that nice, I will have a ton of work in that area.

Thanks. That corner in post #142 is what I re-built. The area below the left hinge had a line of pin holes. Now it has a square cut out of it about an inch high and 8 inches long. The patch will have to curve under the edge too.

God damn man, that's a good repair. It looks like that's how it was from the factory!

The patch just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I cut back the corner past the rust to eliminate a dent at the same time. Seemed silly to patch right up to the edge of the dent and then pull and fix the dent.

I'm not allowed to work on it tomorrow, but I'll prime and seal the inside of the corner on Friday before I put the patch in.

Finished the corner patch.

Filled a couple of small holes here and there.

Started the trans cover. Mostly done. Just a couple of little things left. Seems like kind of a shame to cover it with sound deadener and carpet.

Finished the trans cover.

Started on the right corner. No rust, just gotta re-skim a previous repair.

Sprayed the rest of the interior with SE primer and DP90. It's way dark in there now.

I wasn't in the shop too long today and a good chunk of that time was going over the Tracker I bought for the daughter.

Sprayed the hood, fenders and grill in DP90 after giving them another coat of SE primer. Everything sat too long unsealed to trust the first coat of SE primer. Shot the rest of the exterior less the roof too.

Shot K38 high build on the interior and jams. Didn't do the underside of the roof as that's going to be covered with sound deadener and headliner. It certainly doesn't need to be block sanded.

I bought a dark green truck.

Then for a year I had a light green truck.

For a day I had a black truck.

Now I have a light gray truck.

I shot another 20oz of high build this evening. Got the hood, fenders, aprons, grill and rest of the exterior.
