so i took the truck back out to my exhaust guy, and he said he was lookin around for the template that he had for the v6 headers that he made but said he cant find them. i dont wanna spend the cash to have him make a full new set ($250 he said), and dont have the cash to buy a set anywhere else. we were lookin under there and he said he thinks he can take the crossover pipe off and use the flange and run a pipe back for the pass. side, and then basically do the same thing on the driver side, and run 2" or somethign duals all the way back. i jsut thought i would ask around and see if anyone has any experience or knowledge on it. from what ive looked at, it should be fine...and would probably save some of the heat on my floorboards and the engine up there on that corner. thanks in advance guys.

well, ill give it a week or so and see if i get anything from anyone else. maybe check my mileage, and then take pics of the process and all the goodness and see if any difference is made in the end. trading out some of my military gear to get it done for free ;) lemme know if anyone else out there has any info thanks

I've been pretty happy with my Ceramic Thorley system. Threw on a super cat, CA Smog legal, and just a high flow flowmaster w/ a single out.
You can't really run a true dual b/c of the catalytic setup, and IMHO a dual's not worth putting the tailpipe that close to the gas tank.

This is before I redid the tailpipe and I can get a vid of that soon enough if wanted. Basically we routed it better and in doing so gave it a better exhaust tone.

Mine's a 3VZE 6 cyl, but they also do one for the 4 cylinders. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycAh...44EF7848&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=35

right now i just have it straight piped to down to a cherry bomb...its too loud, the tone sucks, and the floorboard gets entirely too hot on the floorboard and it would be nice to save some of the heat from that #6 cyl. over here on my side of WA state we dont have any emission testing and stuff like that. how much did that system set you back? im tryin to get something cheap as possible...i am broke as hell until i get back on active duty...

Less than $1k with everything bent up and welded. Straight pipes will increase the tone, put a cat back in, promote clean air, and add some intricate bends in and you'll be good to go. We actually used the factory pipe as a partial template with my final pipe, it took sectioning it, but it came out great. I'll go and get pics..

2ndgen....here is something that i just ran into on youtube yesterday. YouTube - #3 Built 3vz V6 toyota i sent the guy a PM, and he said its basically a stock 3vze with a custom cam. He said theyre the stock manifolds, with custom exhaust...from the looks of it, its exactly what im talking about. So, i guess there is someone out there that has done it, but doesnt seem to be willing to spread the wealth of knowledge. :bang: no biggie, ill try to get it done, and see if i notice any results.

That thing sounds choice as.

One of the guys in the club installed Downey headers into a single Flowmaster. It not only sounds good, it works good.

if i had the cash, i would def. buy a set of headers for it...im just broke until the big green dick gets everything settled. haha so i just figure something free and basically lookin pretty easy might be able to help. now i just gotta get off my ass and go talk to him again and try to set a date.
