Hello all,

What started as a blown head gasket turned into a full engine rebuild, and needless to say, I caught the "while I'm in there..." bug. I'm replacing nearly everything that's inside the engine, but I'm unsure of what I should replace on the exterior. Currently, my list includes:

motor and transmission mounts
water pump
thermostat
radiator fan clutch
all belts

I feel like this list should be longer though, what are your thoughts?

I did all my engine gaskets, front main, timing cover ect. You will likely end up replacing a bunch of hoses, my oil cooler hose was scary close to rupturing earlier this year. Other than maybe oxygen sensors, and cleaning up whatever you took off, you should be in good shape. If you want to spend some extra cash, the Nomad Torque Converter caught my eye recently. I also would have upgraded to new 4-hole fuel injectors while I was in there. Mine have 300K+, switching to 4-hole from the single made a pretty big difference on my old Jeep's I6.

I forgot all about the hoses, I'll take a look at them and see what condition they're in. Injectors were the other thing I was considering upgrading, but I've been having trouble finding anything reliable for less than $200. Any recommendations?

Hi, Check smog pump and all smog hoses, metal and rubber. Loose or frayed wires. Mike

This truck is currently completely desmoged, so luckily I won't have to worry about the lines and air pump hoses

I'll definitely look at the wires and connections, I remember something being broken when I was pulling the engine, can't remember what it was though

Thanks!

I found a seller on eBay that is advertising 88-92 Land Cruiser Fuel Injectors for the 3-FE, I could not tell you any reviews about them though. At a minimum I would probably send them out to Witch Hunter to have them cleaned and balanced.

I replaced my 3FE's injectors with the Bosch Osidetiger 4 hole injectors. They gave a slight increase to the higher rpm power and helped the fuel mileage slightly. I would do them again if I were looking to and they were in the $200 neighborhood if I remember correctly.

I'm ordering these right now, at $200 for all six they're almost the same price as refurbished ones! Thanks!

On my quest searching for parts to replace, I finally decided I should probably do the O2 sensors as well. I'm going with Denso again, but on the RockAuto website, there's two seperate Denso O2 sensors listed, one right and one left. They both appear to be exactly the same as far as the descriptions go, but there's a $15 price difference. Any reason to buy the right and left, or can I just buy two lefts and save $15? The ones currently on my Cruiser both are exactly the same, can't see why right and left would matter. TIA.
