Would someone with a stock FJ62 exhaust mind taking an angle finder to their downpipes just past where they bolt to the manifold, where they are still straight and parallel. I would really appreciate it it, thanks.

Just to be more clear on my intentions I need to know what degree of bend is needed to go from that angle to flat, 0 degrees.

I will see if I can do this when I get home but just FYI you can download an app on your cell phone that will do this.

It's not the angle finder that's the issue, it's access to a truck.

Trying to buy parts for when I have to time to install them.

I have stock downpipes on the truck now, I need their initial angle so I know what degree of mandrel bends to buy so I can make my own custom downpipes.

No need - I need to visit my rig to find out what size exhaust pipe I have know anyways. Thanks though!

I ended up measuring my own truck, and building a custom exhaust. Don’t remember what the angles where.

If you’re going to build a custom Y-pipe, my recommendation is to order two 180’ degree bends and a few feet of straight tube. Cut all the bends you need out of the 180-degree parts. Cheap and nice.

O2 bungs from LC Engineering, they’re the same for a 4Runner/pickup.

I ended up having to put another flex-joint on the rear tube as well.

Hey Cruisermatt-
Would you mind sharing the tube diameters you sourced? Did you build your down pipes? I'm in the process of doing the same thing and have been debating 3 options:
1- custom build new exhaust from down pipes all the way back. This is my DIY mentality but have not found clear info on a flange (Walker 41492 is discontinued). Oddly enough, I found a company that has 2f exhaust flange TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 2F EXHAUST FLANGE - https://www.gbemandrel.com/toyota-landrcruiser-2f-exhaust-flange.html
I just checked their website again and it is possible that they make a flange that will work. FLANGES, GASKETS, 2 AND 3 BOLT STYLE - https://www.gbemandrel.com/flanges-gaskets-2-and-3-bolt-style/

2- remove, chop, and clean original down pipes and weld new mandrel tubing and y-pipe back.
3- order the davico down pipes from Rock Auto and chop them after the O2 bungs and weld y-pipe (or 2 into 1 cat) and mandrel bent tubing back from where I cut off the Davico pipes. Definitely don't want the FJ62 rock catcher hanging under the frame.

Since I last posted on this thread I became a TIG welder, and started a Land Cruiser shop where we build dozens of custom stainless exhausts a year. We just did this exhaust on a 40 this week, I say we, my guys did everything and I just weld them now

I believe for 3FE’s we typically use 1.5” for the downpipes and 2.25” for the main.
