Are you running the OME heavy plus in rear??

Sweet rig TheDude, you have a build thread? There's a lot of 80s style monster trucks floating around here. The tough thing about the 60 is the rear doors, if you can move the axle back an inch or two it seams you can clear 37s with just some simple snippage.

The converse is that a lot of people don't want to cut a clean 60 which I endorse, those guys probably aren't going to wheel much anyhow so being tall on the street isn't such a bad thing.

I want to know how many guys get by with stock birfs/axles and 37s? What gears are you running?

I'm locked front and rear with the power of my v8 and running 4:56 gears and 37s. I haven't had any issues YET long fields would be nice I just don't have the money. Not really into the skinny pedal much. I live 3 hours away from Moab and it see slick rock and high mountain or desert trails not alot of full throttle stuff

Low on 37's

Running Longfields. Never had any breakage yet. Thumbs up !
Running PolyPerformance Chromos in the rear. They are junk. They lack hardness in the bearing area. Worn out three of them.

FL, I love it.

Do you have a build thread?

What stroke shocks are you running in the back?

Do you have any flex shots of the 63"?

What BS are your wheels?

No build thread. Kind of slowly evolved in stages.
rear shocks are Ford Super Duty. I forget what year and details. Just happened to measure them the other day. They are 29" extended, 17"compressed. Mounts on frame moved up.

Wheel backspacing is 3 1/2"

Teetering truck shot. About the closest I could find to a flex shot

Sorry for all the Qs but......

Do you rub on the frame or leaves up front?

Did you relocate either axle?

Modify the bump stops?

1" Body lift?

The reason I ask is I just burnt in my 63" rears SUA as well, and am prepping for 37s. Any tips are appreciated.

No problem at all.

There is a 3" body lift. Axles are in original location. Bump stops unmodified.
Rear tires stuff well. Light rubbing on the inner fenderwells driving off camber.

Front rubbing was bad against the radiator support mounts. Now it's not as bad since i moved them up 3". It still does rub on the front springs sometimes fully compressed with the wheels fully turned.

The 63" Chevy springs are 3" lift springs with all 5 leaves left in.
The only thing undesirable is when loaded down with spare parts and gear, it was too flexy at highway speeds. Air bags took care of that. It could be the 45 deg shackle angle that made it too flexy. Just allow for the springs settling an inch or two when setting it up. If I find the 63" Chevy lift thread, I'll PM you the link.

As far as i can figure out the springs are heavy/ heavy... The springs were on it when i got the 60 but it was SUA... I been thinking about putting 63" chevy's on the back, just don't know for sure yet...

If its the heavy/heavy take one of the bottom overloads out and and the third spring from the top out of the pack. It will make the back drop and give it a much better spring rate. I did this to my dads and it sits level now and works better.

here is my build thread and the new coil over thread in the HC section.

I was running the Michelin 325/85R16 XMLs that measured almost 39" prior to the toyos. I had OME heavy/heavy and it was WAY to tall. I also have a 2" body lift that helps alot..

I am hoping to come down almost 8" from the SOA on OME. The rear will be tough as it's going to require fender and fuel tank modifications

My vision for what my truck should look like on a 39" tire with a stretched back end fender opening.

That looks sick! Would it still be SOA?

nope links.

i don't think you could ever get that low on springs unless you went back to a SU and you won't get the droop needed to perform on the SU.

That's true. Have you thought about chassis swap with an 80 or at least using 80 series axles and set up?

Oof that is perfect.

He's gonna be way better off with what he's doing than an 80 chassis. Easier too.

I am currently using an 80 series rear but the chassis swap is not an option for me.

I know, i get bugged all the time that my 61 just want to grow up to be an 81 but I like the room and body style of a 60 series better.

I think it's all going to work out though.

I love the body of a 60 too. But it sounds likes you have a solid plan!

Holy crap, just breezed your coilover thread. Amazing work and skill.
