Nothing wrong with being little proactive with pain the first few days. Stay ahead of it and don’t get behind the curve. It’s harder to catch up and control it.

Glad you went this route, think your gonna love it once the smoke settles, here’s to a rapid uneventful recovery!!!!

Had both knees done in 2020. One in January and the second in May after Covid delayed elective surgeries. Modern robotic surgery is flat out amazing. Went under about 9am. Was walking with assistance early afternoon. Walked from the front door of Vail Health to the car about 330p. I was lucky re pain. Stay on top of your physical therapy and you’ll be good to go quickly. Started mine within of the week I had my surgeries.
Friends who had it done said I’d wish I’d done it ten years earlier. Absolutely true.

thanks all for the concerns and advice . Don’t know if this was robotic….i saw more power tools in the OR than the wall in my pole barn.. I did PT for about 15 minutes before leaving. Have some crazy looking recumbent bike with tv and wi-fi for the therapist, therapy visits 5X a week in home for 2 wks.
a few people I know over the years have said the same thing.. should have done this years ago.

“35 years in the making“ is a fabulous accomplishment. I know this due to my own time frame. Now I graciously thank Michael for the use of this wonderful thread and return the space to him.

We’re all friends and brothers around here. I’m praying for your quick recovery.

Stuck this on the garage door on the short side. It’s a 10’ tall door. I rarely open this garage door on the short side of the pole barn. The front side has almost 30 feet of garage door so it is much more accessible. If I have to open up this side, I just have to move a few little things around. I thought the FJ40 would be a nice touch. By the way, all of those hooks are mounted like hinges so even if I open the garage door, they would just rotate 90° out of the way as if they were hanging from the ceiling. Always great to have a place to hang something.

In case any has an interest… they are packs of 10. Come in 20lb and 44lb hold power. Same plastic adhesive but a thicker metal hook. I stuck one on the back door glass of the house for a wreath at Christmas time 18 months ago..still there, non yellowed and looks new. Amazon

@greenbeast here are the included drip trays, I found the plastic tray in a dog crate fits PERFECTLY… and there is the rolling jack plate. They give you 4 drip trays incase you want to store another vehicle underneath

these 4 dowels are actually stops to limit the travel of the rolling Jack plate. I put them on the extreme ends so it allows full travel.

‘’additionally…go to YouTube and watch the advantage lifts Lift Installation video. There are several…the 1 hour one is well worth the time invested as the installer explains the hows and whys of each component design

What are your thoughts on this lift after a couple years use? I had a chance to look at a 9000XLT today and was impressed. So starting to think about it or maybe the 11000WD.

My friend who originally showed me how his lift worked is about 14 years old. He is a very active lift user with 4 hot rods…beyond a few more scratches, his lift and mine (almost 2 yrs) are no different.. my Suburban and crew cab Silverado go up there no different than the ‘57 t-bird.

Have you rolled yours around much? Curious if it might be stable enough to roll out of shop (all on concrete and even if you had to pull with tractor or something) so I can pressure wash undersides of vehicles. If so, that's a huge plus.

Did they charge sales tax and about how long was it between ordering and delivery?

Thanks.

As for rolling it around….my epoxy floor is smooth and it is fairly easy…not a 1 handed push but with a 2 hand push and once moving you can easily place it where you need. I don’t move it much but it is not that big of an effort…I’m 71 and no longer the Mr. Atlas I once might have been

I am 95% sure I paid sales tax but I can check when I get home. I had ordered it in May and it was delivered the end of August..so prior to ordering…add that in as a stipulation if you need it quickly. I was in no rush….the pole barn was still under construction. Using that ‘47 Ford 8N tractor, I was able to assemble it myself which was a surprise to me also used and engine hoist to lift and balance the runways to be attached to each end..worked fine

I would encourage you to view the 1 hour long assembly video on you tube… it ties it all in nicely. Press for a few free add-ons as the have promotions frequently. My 9000XLT is built at the wider spacing so it accommodates the t-birds and Suburban easily…you get to choose when you assemble

Thanks, I watched the assembly video and it looks pretty easy. I've got forklifts to handle. Looks like they might always be "on sale" to some degree but I'll keep an eye on their site. Maybe they do something around Christmas or maybe scratch and dent. Be nice not to have to pay another $600 in sales tax but probably no way around it these days.

Good luck…I had been watching them for 2 years. Best I saw was the added Jack or free accessories. The plastic drip trays were great for me when I stored 2 T-birds one on top of the other. I was praying they did not drip and thankfully, they did nt. Of course when you lay them end to end, the entire bottom of the lift is obscured and your always sliding them on top of each other to get to something . The included rolling jack stand comes in handy when you need to lift a wheel or two using another small jack.
