I'm 99% that the 75+ Cruiser birfs are the same as the mini axle birfs, but the axle shafts may be different length....

Yep you are correct. The long cruiser axle will fit on the long side of the mini but not the short side axle. However I did notice on the Cruiser Spindle there is on extra bolt hole that the 84 mini does not need but it still bolts up just fine.

Umm, I don't think this is correct. Cruiser birfs up to 1978 were a different length. I want to say shorter. In 1979+ they were the same as mini and FJ60.

76-78 were the orphan birfs, that were longer and slightly weaker than the ones that came later.

Yes-but don't forget the "pre-birfs" that were ball and claw.
