I was actually wanting to know your total (tranny/ tcase & diff gear) plans. Good suggestions above ^^.
Due to your axle width, I'd aim to keep your suspension as low as possible. That means cutting out the rear wheelwells & cutting/ raising the fronts. You will prolly want to do more than a 6" rear stretch too. Does that Proffitt's kit have (2) tubes X 3/8" wall DOM for the lowers? Box all your link mounts. What lockers are you going to run?

For now, planning on running what I have... Pointiac 350 with a stock 3spd transfer case. An auto with 4.88's sounds cool though.
The rears will get cut and the fronts will be MetalTech (already have the full kit).

Think I'll be running whatever I can get a good deal on. Detroit or Arb preferred.
Put 12 hours in today with a friend and have a clean frame (there was so much crap welded to it) but still cant get the rear bumper support off (rivets are in there real good).
Anyone know any tricks to getting rivets out? I've ground them off, heated them up, lubed them and banged the crap out of them. Only a few come out on my frame. Most of them are out on the donor. What a job.... lots of work... even with 2 people to replace these supports. Pissed at PO's.

Good Idea... wish there was a bit that didn't dull. What about plasma cutting them out. Has anyone done this? stick the cutter in the hole and burn it out without making to big a hole?

Some pictures of a 12 hour day. Was too tired to post last night.
We knocked a ton of dirt and some kind of powdercoat off this bad boy yesterday. Then pressure washed the frame. Had a tough time with the rivots. Goal is to have those two parts swapped out by next week. Then this will be considered a build and not a tare down

The bolts on the bumper were rusted solid. It was quicker to grind them off.
The tip on this pressure washer can cut through wood. It did a good job.
Put the two frames in the garage to clean up the front driveway.

Thanks Too Tall. I have a Max 43 out in the garage, its just the box, need to get the bottle for it and possibly order a tip. I'm selling it for a friend that passed away, but if I like it might buy it.

Im not that knowlegable on Plasam Cutters, but what bottle are you talking about? Most all Plasma cutter I have seen use regular air from an air compressor.
Is there wire coming out of the tip?

Ok, now you know I am a goon when it comes to plasma's. I looked at it and sure enought it takes air. meh... that was a simple fix. I'm going to pick up a 155cf tank for $210 tomorrow. Full and at least I'll own the bottle. The welder is a Granger model. 220 I believe. It will come in handy. Now I need to get some welding goggles

Picked up a Tip and an electrode for the plasma to see if it worked. It does and it works great. These rivots were in there good. Even with the plasma they were hard to bang out. Without the plasma... I would have bent the frame up. Finally got the Bumper support and the cross member off of both frames and cut the old frame up.
The Tear down is officially done.
Now to clean it and put it back together. I'm working at a snails pace... but It'll get done ... someday... I guess.

I could have used a beer. I didn't have the plasma when I started. It was given to me after I had done all the dirty work on the frame.
Frame parts are free plus the ride if you need any. Have a buddy that wants to play around with the plasma cutter. You'll still have to deal with rivots.

Growing weed of course
Its a 1000 watt light. Picked it up in a yard sale for $50. It has a converter on it to 110 so I put it on my deck shining over my back yard for late night parties. It looks like a UFO landed to my neighbors as My yard is fenced in by 20' tall pyramids. The light shines out and up of the trees. Its in an aluminum box which made it worth $50.
Impulse buy - large paperweight.
I haven't gotten anything done on the frame this weekend. Picked up some more parts and cataloged them. That took all day yesterday. Today I'm cleaning out my 12x12 barn so I can get all the bins in... and hopefully take pictures of all my body panels and post them up on the site. Need cash for the build.
This week I will be taking a trailer load of parts to the sandblasters and hopefully figuring out what my drivetrain will be. Probably wont have much to talk about till then.

Not much going on... its 92 degrees in our house. Peak of summer. Its 90 in the garage so after jumping in the kiddypool I took apart some hardware for the sandblasters. Some for resale, some for Chia.
I think its wise to cataloge items you take to the blasters... expecially if you have a ton of parts. It really sucks when you go pick parts up and there are 3 - 4 small ones missing. Learned that lesson the hard way.
