2UZFE Swap for 1VD-FTV? (1 Viewer)

Has anyone done a 1VD-FTV swap on their rig? Just curious of how complex and expensive it would be. I know the 4.5L V8 D is not cheap either from looking at ebay with prices north of $10K per rebuilt engine. I am thinking the complexities will be around the following areas if I am not mistaken:

- Registration/emission of diesel engine depends on state laws
- conversion parts/mods
- skilled labor
- service availability and parts

not exactly going from V8 gasoline to V8 Diesel but still interesting swap from inline 6 to V8 4.5L D w/single turbo. Thanks for sharing

I would budget about $35-40k if paying somebody to do it.

I had Proffitts Cruisers install a 1HD-FT diesel into my old 80 series. I sourced the engine and trans and they did the install, wiring, clutch pedal etc.
Looked factory when it was complete. Install was around $8-10k but I had other "extra" items done while the motor was out
Give them a call and post what you find out - the 1VD-FTV is a sweet engine, and I would think you would be the first in NA to have one!
