Awesome day on the trail today wheeled with the moderate group all locked in at least the rear all but one had front lockers and all were at least on 35's the group was guided by Rob with STLCA followed by Roger at the rear. Trails were awesome with nice creek crossings and in the wooded canopy all day, nice rock climbs to keep you interested and of course an obstacle here an there. We had two 80's, two 4 Runners with BSLCA and some new friends a Dad and son from Charleston and Upstate Cruisers driving a 40 and 62 followed a built 40 from Kentucky and the STLCA guides were in a built 40 and Roger's diesel 62. Day 1 we're all very excited with this place wheeled 10 to 6 today. our 30 min lunch break was a short walk from a water fall :) Cheers!

Now that is a Sexy 62, any video of her running. What kind of Diesel..... I wish I could have made it...D:

A very memorable GSMTR trip has come to a close, All made it home safely and all rigs returned unscathed besides some pin-striping :) With several days to soak up the great sites of the Smokies and several good days of wheeling at a beautiful Windrock park it certainly made for a fantastic trip. Thanks to Paul/Jean, Albert/Linda, Tommy Lambert and my copilot Holden for making it a memorable one and just what You need to unplug from our normal routines. I'll have fond memories to propel me into the work week this week and the weeks to come :D We made some new friends in South Carolina and Tennessee sending us home with their contact information to stay in touch and we most certainly will and of course seeing the friends we routinely get to see at these events always makes them that much sweeter

...Now it's Monday, get back to work like the rest of us!!!!

:flipoff2:

... was the "jealousy version" of welcome home. Gosh, I wish I woulda made it

Can't wait for the pics

WOW really nice trip. The whole being a “tourist” for a few days was fun (I have not walked or hiked up hill that much in a while). The temperature of 40’s for lows and 60’s for high while visiting the national parks in the area really make the experience enjoyable. Clean roads, crystal clear streams, wildlife walking along side the vehicles as we drove through the park…. Ah just breath taking ;)

To visit the shops downtown with samples of local jelly, salsa, moonshine , etc. was also greaaaat ! (as an appetizer before Larry’s corn on the cob & steaks) Now that was a meal!
Thanks again Larry to you and your folks for putting us up at their place and making us fell so welcomed

On to the wheeling trip. This is a large park, with long trails. With ice chest and fuel tanks full we were able to wheel all day with out trouble. That's not to say that the trails were not challenging( had to climb a few obstacles with more pedal then I am use to) which made for long enjoyable trails. The 80's and 4Runners did great out here. You can wheel this park with some rain which is a good thing since we can not seem to make a wheeling trip with out rain following us. It’s a long trip up there but I will be going back to visit the park time when me and Linda get some more free time.

Well said Albert, I posted in the STLCA thread and check out his response, there were a lot of fans of the 4-runner and for good reason :)

I saw that thread, and just kinda looked through pics, then read. I saw the 4runner, and was like, hey I totally need to show this to the La guys. The I realized who posted it. :).

A couple of the Ga guys are wanting to do another trip up there later in the summer e, and I'm gonna do my best to make it up there. It looked like an awesome park.

Thanks Cody Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

I read that, you really would love the place it has moved to the top of my list of parks, in fact I would have liked to move a little slower to really soak it all in but I'll get other opportunities :) It was nice to just jump in a group and wheel with them without hacking trees, moving rocks or jogging trails all while navigating the map. If you want to make a vacation of it I'd be happy to sit down with you and plan a great trip like we just took.

Man reading all of that sure made me jealous! Glad y'all enjoyed it and made it back safely!

Mr. Landry, I sure hope you didn't get that axle too dirty!

It was nice meeting and wheeling with all you guys. All of us from S.C. had a blast. Look forward to seeing ya'll there next year. Ill make sure to post up some pictures once I get them all downloaded. I got some good pics on the trails .

A couple of teasers. Most of my good pics from the ride we did with you guys are on my other camera that I havent had time to download yet.

We had an awsome assortment of vehicle show up.

Great to hear from you Scott and same here we certainly enjoyed visiting and wheeling with you and David as well. The park was awesome as was the assortment of rigs, people and clubs that attended. Push David to use that free registration he won for SCC this year  and ya'll come on over to Hot Springs we'll be happy to wheel with you and show you around Superlift and treat you to some good gumbo as well  Here are a few I took of your 40 and David's 62

Good meeting you, Larry. If we can actually pick a good time for GSMTR 2013 part 2 in late June or early July, well keep you and Cody in the loop for sure!
