Primitive camping is first come and is included with your registration. The primitive camping is in the event area, you can reserve RV spaces or cabins (I have heard they are all booked) in the public area. This area is just a short distance from the event area, see Windrockpark.com for map.

Only 34 days to GSMTR, if you are not registered it’s time to go to www.stlca.org/gsmtr/ and register.
This is going to be a great wheeling event with 72,000 acres and over 300 miles of trail to play on and we will have some great activities back in camp. A large camp fire every night to sit around and see old friends and meet new ones. Friday night we will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs and Saturday night we will have a catered BBQ meal, and this year we have added a vegetarian alternative.
Then there is Saturday Nights Raffle, our major sponsors, ACC, IPOR, Metal Tech, Lowe Toyota, Southeast Overland, Trollholes Cruisers and TPI are brining lots of awesome items and many smaller sponsors are sending many great items, you don’t want to miss this raffle and as always the money raised will go to supporting continued land use issues.

Looking forward to it, Cheers! You mean vegetarian's like to wheel? LOL

I made a few calls to the park this afternoon to see what other options we may have in the area and below is the info I came away with. I guess for the location the RV sites fetch what a room would almost cost and the nearest campgound to the park would be Indian Creek and from the sounds of it Windrock is nicer. There are still RV spots at Windrock as of today.

Indian Creek Camper & Rv Sts - (RV Sites are $40 a night with full hookups)
1387 Cove Ln, Oliver Springs, TN 37840
(865) 435-0962

3 - 4 miles from Windrock near Trail 22

Windrock Park Campground
.555 Windrock Park Ln, Oliver Springs, TN 37840
(865) 435-1251

RV Sites are $38 a night with full hookups

The hotels below honor discounts if you mention your riding at Windrock/Cole Creek

Comfort Inn
433 S Rutgers Ave, Oak Ridge, TN 37830
(866) 611-6301

Hampton Inn Oak Ridge
208 S Illinois Ave, Oak Ridge, TN 37830

Thanks Roger we definitely would choose to be near the activities :) I was just looking up alternatives in the area for the group to have some options. Some of the wives won't go primitive and I know mine wouldn't either. I'm easy I'll climb in the 80 and crash just about anywhere.

look forward to seeing yawl there- in case; Ill be up the weekend before, then there the full week.

Same here bud we look forward to seeing you as well, we'll be there the whole week as well. We'll be in Pigeon Forge a few days and check into the event Wednesday. Cheers!

Just looked at that agenda for your trip, looks like a nice one. I'd love to visit that park and the area in general but not for the GSMTR time line. I'll probably make a trip up there with the family in September/October, might use y'all agenda to start planning :)

I had won a registration at the Mardi Krawl raffle and since no one from the eastern side of the state seems to be going I'll offer it up to you guys as well.

Just let me know where to mail it!

Sorry Ms. Jean I was still on the fence, I really wanted to go, but too many other things going on so I came to the conclusion in the last couple of days that it will just have to be another year.
