Registration is open for the 22 Annual GSMTR, May 13-18, 2013. Register at http://www.stlca.org/gsmtr/ . This year’s event will be at Windrock Park, near Oakridge, TN. This park has over 300 miles of trail from mild to wild, no matter what level of truck you have you can ride new trails every day for a week. Your event registration includes 6 days of primitive camping and use of the rest rooms and showers. The park has nice 4 man bunk cabins, 8 man deluxe cabins and full RV hook ups near the event area, but these are open to the public during the event, so if you want one you need to reserve now. For park and cabin info go to www.windrockpark.com. Here is the link to the campground layout- http://www.windrockpark.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/WindrockPark-2.pdf

Thanks Roger, I need a new job with 8 weeks vacation I just can't cover all the events I'd like to make with just 5 :D I hope to come check out the Windrock Park looks like a hop skip and a jump from my folks place in Pigeon Forge :)

This maybe a good trip to take any that are interested on a tour of the Smokies a few days and then take the 1.5 hour stroll over to Windrock for the GSMTR event for a few days of wheeling. I can make arrangement's for our group to stay on some scenic property in Pigeon Forge a few nights on the border of the Smoky MTN Nation Park. We can discuss the interest and logistics the next couple meetings.

I was in Pigeon Forge all last week with my ENTIRE family....20 of us in an 8 BR, 9BA house. We had a great time in the National Park. It was absolutely beautiful. Being in Tennessee, I thought of you Larry. I had no idea your folks were actually in Pigeon Forge.

Thats great Armond wish I would have known I would have sent you some great sights to see though I'm sure you were able to find plenty to do. Glad to hear you all had a great time. I never get tired of spending time in the Smokies we grew up visiting frequently and we were all excited when the folks bought property there and eventually moved there full time in 95/96. There is so much to do and enjoy in National Park without spending money and of course plenty of the tourist stuff to enjoy as well :)

Oh, I thought this venue would be a shorter trip for me...oh well. Looks like I have some work to do!

A good woman fixed me up for our Anniversary today now that's a keeper ;)

That's awesome Larry. Is she going with ou or is she sending you off on your own?

Unfortunately she won't make it I was hoping to make it a family trip but school won't let out until a week or so after the event so we'll have to see if my copilot Holden makes it or it may just be me by my lonesome :( I'm sure she'll find something to tear up around the house she usually does when I leave for a trip. Last time I went to GSMTR in 2010 I came back to a 10K Kitchen remodel job. EEK
