Pretty iffy with the state of my relics….

I wish. 3 dead Toyotas again. At least I can count on the Ford. Never thought it’d come to this.

I’m very much interested despite owning an ‘03. This will be my first club run and I’d love to meet everyone.

there was a small chat at the BBQ today, about some other guys with non relic rigs crashing the run

Just FYI, this isn't an official club run. Our club likes to do an official run about once a month during the wheeling season. This and the 40's Only Run, being that they exclude folks for not having the "right" Land Cruisers, are events organized by members without the official sanctioning of the club. Since it's not official and all about having fun, we don't get too hung up on our definition of "relic", but do plan on being on the receiving end of some good-natured teasing if you show up lacking a solid front axle.

I ordered new valve covers and gaskets this morning.

seth you were smokin a bit coming back into town from the BBQ im sure you are well aware of it. seemed to calm down once you got closer to town

Yeah, my valve covers have been leaking. I replaced the gaskets and thought I had it fixed but the t-bolts were loose when I got up to Bridger Bowl. I've got a new set of covers with thicker flanges ordered. Also, new silicon gaskets and new fasteners. I might replace the PCV valve too.

All that, but not actually low on oil! Yet.

First post updated with meetup time/spot in Townsend and meetup time/spot at Avalanche Butte Rd and Hwy 287, depends on if you're coming from Bozeman/Belgrade or from Helena.

Radio info added.
More route info added.
Reminder: this run is on a Sunday.

Matt and I have been working on the route a bit. I drove part of it to check the status of a gate. We've done a bit of rerouting to avoid a seasonal closure happening next week. I don't think this is going to be a particularly technical trail, but it's a cool area to see, there is a potential for some fall colors, and our high elevation point should have a cool view. Hopefully we can get everyone lined up for a photo at the top.

This will be a bit longer than typical. I'm seeing 121.7 miles from the gas station rally point through the trail and back to the rally point. Using data from other events, I'm estimating just shy of 11 hours from rally point to rally point. This is probably a bit less technical than average, so we'll move a bit faster. Larger groups tend to take a little longer at stops, so we'll want to keep an eye on time there.

I'm looking forward to this event. I hope you are too.

I'm 100% out. My wife and daughter are heading to Billings, I'm going to be on animal watch.

bite your tongue! We’re in for an epic now

I've got a pretty serious work deadline coming up next week, and then surgery that Friday. So I don't have a ton of time to monitor this thread. I will check it on Sunday morning once I arrive at the gas station in Townsend.

@3_puppies I have been instructed to meet up with you to pick up some parts for Chris @BigSky406. Assuming he doesn't make it.

I will have two extra ham/gmrs radios available if anyone needs one.

Please post if you're coming. Please also indicate whether you'll be meeting up with me at the gas station or with Matt @90WT where the pavement ends.

See you sunday!
