If this article is true I think it looks like Toyota designed the new Land Cruiser to make sure they would sell as many GX550's as possible.

4 cyl and no E-KDSS, the 4Runner is definitely going to have to be something radically different than it is now because this LC250 is turning into exactly what I thought the 4Runner would be.
Lol, let's see how these comments age in a year or two.

I can't see this being accurate. Manually operated cloth seats? An inch less ground clearance than a 4Runner? The pics look real and the rumours had round headlights being available.
And $5000 more than a 4Runner TRD Pro to start!

The drop off in towing from the GX is disappointing given the slight reduction in power, assuming the battery just cant keep up with power delivery under heavy loads?

Would you rather the more 'normal' looks of the 300?
but had this been in the US it would have been more expensive obviously.

Or base 300

I think the 300 (especially in GR trim) looks good. I also liked and appreciated the LC being upmarket so I would have been 1 of the 3000 or so customers to buy one had they sent them to the U.S.

so basically a 4runner with updated engine, which the new 4runner will be getting as well? whats the catch here, the land cruiser badge?
The 5th gen 4Runner is a few inches smaller in every direction than this so the LC250 will bridge the size gap between the 4Runner and Sequoia. If these prices and options are true Toyota is just trying to cash in on the LC nameplate with a larger BOF RAV4.

The release of the price seems odd though. Toyota doesn't usually announce pricing at these reveals. Price and MPG are a few months away usually.

Bite your tongue

The 4R at least has a proper transfer case of sorts/ is RWD primarily

I dont understand the reduced visibility in the rear side windows compared to 4R

My main issue with the 250 lc and gx design wise from the side other than the rear glass
Is the fenders
If they were abit more square like the 300 would have been better
