What’s the hint hint, wink, wink...? It’s use has been rumored all over the internet for a while now.
Ironic, you blast every post with "rumors or speculative insider information leaks", demanding you need official leaks from Toyota to tell you what it is and is not.

Now, Toyota says, hold my beer, releases an official leak, 16 hours ahead of the reveal, and you say "It’s use has been rumored all over the internet for a while now". In other words, you believed the "rumors or speculative insider information leaks" you blasted. :bang:

Then you will be ‘out’ of most any new vehicle sooner than later because that is the trend, not because of MPG but emission mandates. Your vote matters!

yea...it is baffling that so many vote for higher taxes, higher costs, more complication, more oversight, more lying, and more control over what we 'can' and 'can't' do based on the whim of idiot politicians.

its so much 'cleaner' to keep a car on the road than to constantly have to scrap, transport, recycle, and trash a dented old car and then re-build an entire new one

LOL My fault that I’m old fashioned in that when something is advertised as ‘insider information’ it should at least get the headlight shape right or offer some specifics that aren’t readily found everywhere.

To be clear, I have zero issue and actually enjoy rumors and speculative guesses. It’s when its presented as something else that I ask follow up questions - never to get a specific answer. And then I’ll call BS after tons are tossed against the wall and a thing or two accidently sticks and the tosser does a victory dance.

The issue is not the speculation but how it was wrapped as something else.

When it comes to product planning, they are much closer now to 18 to 24 months— that’s product need analysis to global implementation. That number will decrease to roughly 12 months within the next 2 to 4 years. Basically Toyota will be able to find the need for any market globally and then implement a product solution within one year.

This doesn't seem to match what is happening. I see a lot of stale products that are losing competitiveness and falling market share. I see an engine lineup that's not class competitive on power or efficiency. No viable EV program. The description seems to fit Kia better than Toyota. From the outside it looks like Toyota is moving to low frequency updates and reducing product range to a few core products and increasing the appearance packages instead of functional improvement.

I really hope there's something I'm not seeing that's happening internally. If it is, it isn't translating to anything I can see on the customer side.

Exactly. When I go home in a week it will be interesting to see if the LC announcement had any effect because Toyota is at bankruptcy type failure in the light duty truck/SUV market in Europe.

Major corporations exist because of two classes of humans: consumers and investors. They don’t exist because of 20 minute plans or thirty year plans or products. And, moreover, big global companies tend to exist despite the ineptitude of their management. and their plans That’s why another class of humans, the Wall Street analyst, tracks the clowns in charge with such vigor. The worst thing any consumer or investor can do is be passive and just accept anything coming down the pike. Question authority every moment!! This thread has been pretty interesting and entertaining because of this kind of questioning.

Fingers crossed for the big LC250 and FJ70 reveal.

I'm sorry you don't understand how auto manufacturers use social media and automotive forums. They will reach out to a few enthusiasts and pass along tips and information to help feed the buzz engine of new releases, this is why most brand model forums have a "Speculation" thread.

Yes, those of us enthusiasts that have built those industry connections, verify the authenticity of the person and what company they work for. Again, since you don't understand what they are doing behind the scenes, I'm done trying to explain.

Where? I will listen to you. Teach me how... Believe or not, I don't know anything about podcasts 🫢🫠🤦🏾‍♀️😂🫶
Thank you! I appreciate it. We broadcast live on YouTube when recording shows. Tonight's will be at 9pm EST. Here is the link to our YouTube: The Off the Road Again Podcast. Episodes are then released the following day on Spotify and Apple Podcasts (and really anywhere podcasts are posted).

Really looking forward to the Land Cruiser debut. High hopes.

You’re right that I don’t understand why any auto manufacturer would purposefully use a few enthusiasts to pass along tips and information that have proved to be so blatantly wrong, unless they want to kill the enthusiast’s credibility - which of course makes no sense. The more logical answer is that the so called “insiders’ aren’t really inside anything but as you correctly said – I don’t understand since I would stop listening to any who led me so astray so often.

Let’s all continue with the Speculation and Guesses without pretending it something more.

This is what the Baby LC reminds me of!

This is what the Baby LC reminds me of!

I can see some resemblance, but that might just be the teasers/renders. Will need to see the actual thing tonight. But I am not sure this "baby" LC is going to look so baby-like, considering it's longer, taller, and wider (including mirrors) than the 200. The 200 is no baby.

Call it what you want…

LC Sport
Baby LC
Beta LC

This is not a real LC! Is this going to be called an LC in the countries that sell the 300 along side, No! This was simply made to appease the US emission requirements and all help all the GX/4R fanboys finally be able to afford a LC. Toyota doesn’t care they have completely discredited the LC name just like they slap TRD on everything.

I love to imagine the primordial outraged 'Mud users snail mailing each other when Toyota came out with the FJ62 and added *gasp* power windows and locks. "Not a real Land Cruiser!"

Or when the 80 heralded in an undeniable 90s bland SUV look. "Not a real Land Cruiser!"

Or when the 100 got IFS. "Not a real Land Cruiser! "

Or the 200 aka Highlander XL. "Not a real Land Cruiser!"

There's probably people on this forum who won't be satisfied until Toyota releases a literal open air tractor, that runs on raw crude oil, with no electronics at all, and has a shotgun shell start procedure. Anything else is just too modern and out of touch with their roots.

Stop

I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about that impossibility

The Prado Land Cruiser was good enough for Ronny Dahl, so I say it is a real Land Cruiser.

I want a Land Cruiser like the LC100 again, I want something revolutionary.
Let's be real, the LC100 lost the solid axle, okay its less capable off road, but honestly I never drove my 100 off road and said yes, I wish I had an 80....BUT I owned an 80 once alongside my 100 and everytime I drove the 100 I was glad I wasn't driving the 80...

I want another Land Cruiser like that...something that changes what we are used to and just leaps into the future.
