I think this new Sequoia is going to be a big hit, bigger than the previous (potato shaped) Sequoia. And finally TRD Pro will actually mean something with respect to off-road capability in the Sequoia. I'm very interested in pricing and the wheelbase. The previous Sequoia wheelbase was a full 10 inches longer than the 200 Series LC. I'm hoping that number shrinks with this new iteration. That cramped third row and solid rear axle is actually good news, to my eyes.

They thought covering up the Toyota Emblem would fool someone?
Toyota does this on pre-production builds sometimes. Not sure why but I see it all the time during the pre-production build phase. It is a special masking tape they use for this purpose. This specific sequoia is most likely never going to be sold to public and will eventually be dismantled once it serves its purpose.

Its a 2023 production model that was tested at Cruise Moab by Toyota and the media. I would expect a review soon, but there are articles describing it in plenty of places as the 2023 model built in Texas in the same factory as the Tundra is

I am guessing you mean this specific unit will be dismantled to be inspected? I would think they would keep it together for marketing as the 2023 model year typically starts in 4 months

Sorry but incorrect. 2023 Sequoia production has not started yet (starts in August). Any 2023 sequoia you see out in the wild is pre-production. Toyota goes through several phases of pre production builds before SOP. I hate to call it “production model” for that reason. The way I understand it, anything built before SOP can not be sold to public.

Pre-production vehicles are made for testing, marketing, etc.

I think we are saying the same thing but semantics. is getting in our way I at first thought your post meant this isn't anything like the production model. Toyota reached out to my club who hosts CM to enable it to run a trail. This may be before full production starts, but it is the same intended design as the production model. Meaning it isn't a concept vehicle.

My apologies. I did read your post incorrectly. My bad.

While mostly minor stuff, you may see some differences between pre production and production models. You may see something on that white sequoia that won’t show up once production starts.

Like how in those photos above you can see that the white sequoia has gloss black side mirrors but matte black fender flares. I hope they don't go that route, but wouldn't doubt it.

It’s interesting to soak in the nature of consumer concerns

Just nitpicking design decisions because it's been almost 5 months since the reveal of this thing without any extra details and I'm bored. Certainly wouldn't not buy it because of mirror color/texture. In fact, I almost definitely will be buying the SR5 TRD Off Road variant of this, and they haven't shown a single image of that.

Any reports on the sequoia's performance at cruise moab?

Romer did you get to see the interior? I am hearing that the rear storage configuration will not allow for a flat surface with 2nd and 3rd row down. Or if it does lay somewhat flat the height will not be enough for comfortable sleeping or for say dog kennels. My 1rst gen is cavernous with the 3rd row removed. Wishing for that.....

Check out this video at 6:25, you can see the 3rd row in action. It does not fold flat, and is not removeable. Even if you figured out how to remove it, you can see an elevated floor (I've heard the hybrid batteries are here), so I believe it still wouldn't be flat with the 2nd row.

Yeah deal killer for me, I need space and not seating. I will keep my 21. Also not interested in the useless electric motor either.
