Same with mine. It has been 3 years since the dealer and I are fixing this problem. Worst is that we noticed that the driver seat’s heater turns on automatically.

We noticed that whenever we restart the car, there are times that the AC switches back on and no seat heater. Like magic.

Hoping that someone can have a solution for this

2018 17K miles.

It sounds like your issue might be different than what is described in this thread, since yours involves malfunctioning seat heater.

However, if you're also seeing problems with the dash vents' airflow / temperature, then you might ask your dealer to perform the fix outlined in this TSB:

Are you guys finding this to be an all or nothing? Seems over past week the ac output on my 17’ has decreased especially in second row. Maybe a reset? Thanks

Your sometime sounds in line with what others have encountered and what the TSB linked above describes.

Thanks! Do you know if there are any OBDII tools that can resolve this outside of hooking to a Windows computer? Thanks again!
I don't know of any way to do it other than with Techstream (on a Windows computer or a virtual machine w/ Windows on some other machine). I'm not sure I would expect to find the low-level things you toggle to reset the servos in anything other than Techstream. I'm not an expert with Techstream vs other tools, though.

Finally dropped at dealership tonight for the AC issue. I predict they will reset the servos and the problem will return with in a week.
not a LC200 but a 2011 LX570 here. During the past few 100 degree days, I noticed the driver side blows out cold air, in the early morning the cold air is visible. But passenger side (and possibly backseat but not sure) just blows lukewarm air. My mechanic claims the inner mechanics is failing, could be blend door/air mix control or even the servo motor, but he has just underwent a complete dash rip-out job on a RX so he's had it, he simply doesn't want to get involved and claims many car AC system (Germans) are just such a pain it takes 11 hours.

I trust my guy but I have a feeling he may be experiencing AC/dash rip-out PTSD.

So I may take it to the dealer and try the software/electronic re-set method. Although, one service guy quickly said "that's a long job, you are low on freon, we need to put dye into the freon and fill up and let it work for a few days etc etc...." No way... at least my mechanic ruled out the low freon or leaking freon theory.

My new to me 2019 LC just stopped blowing AC out of the two drivers side vents. It went out one day, I turned it off and on and it came back on. The next day it went out again and has never came back. Trip to the dealer in my future...

Had mine flashed last Wednesday, by Sunday it went out again. Taking it in tomorrow and the tech said they are going to get Toyota involved...who knows. They are giving me a car to drive so I am happy with that.

Dropped it off this morning. Tech mentioned they are going to contact Toyota for further ideas. At least they gave me a new Camry to drive. Have a feeling they might have it a day or two.

Just got my 2018 back after a week at the dealer after having air stuck on defrost vent only on drivers side. B1443 code. I couldn't reinitialize in techstream after dozens of tries. Toyota platinum extended warranty to the rescue.

New AC amplifier Assy (88650-60Q11) didn't fix it. So then they said they found something stuck with the damper and ordered an AC/heater radiator Assy (87050-60A80) and now claim it's fixed. So far so good. And thank God for the extended warranty as total charged to the warranty was $7,100.

Mine stopped working AC on the passenger side in august 21, fixed under warranty on my ‘19. Stopped working again same exact thing, not working on the passenger side, in august 23. Took in and they fixed it for free. I didn’t really ask what they did but it was done in less than am hour so I suspect they just flashed it and it fixed. Seems to me the flaps were not opening to the passenger side runs.

Has it come back since? I've had mine in at least 5 times for various combinations of the servo issue TSB two 2 different dealers. Gave them the TSB and they swore they reflashed it but it would always come back eventually. This time I couldn't get the techstream initialization to fix it myself like I had always been able to do in the past. So they started swapping hardware when they said they could see one of the dampers getting stuck when the dash was tore apart. We will see if this fixes it for good or not. Only time will tell

Decent chance it was the recirc flap arm disconnected from a tech forcing it out of position.

For future reference, any time you go in for service lock your glove box and keep the key blade with you. This is the only way to avoid having the recirc system broken, and often when that happens it isn’t discovered until later when the offending party can’t be held accountable.

My situation might be related....My wife's 2013 is having an issue. I cannot get the fan to shut off, I can make it blow stronger but when I hit the off button, nothing, still blowing on the lowest setting. I cannot turn the system off. Here we go, all this electrical BS that I don't need or care for. Why I love my 80 Grrrrrr.

Is the cool box on? If the cool box is on you can't turn the AC off.

I forgot about that! I will check when she gets home. Thanks!

Hopefully that's it. True story but that exact thing is how I ended up finding this forum when I got my LC in 2018. Google search for why I couldn't turn the damn AC off on my new LC is how I ended up on here. Thus why I called myself CruiserNewb when I signed up. Now the wife accuses me of being addicted to this forum (and the cruiser) 5 years later.

That was it thankfully! She accidentally had it on. I should have known this but I'm more in touch with my Tacoma and 80. Thanks again!

just an FYI for further viewers, the blend door actuators are very common to fail on the 200, if a reset fixes it and it fails again, more than likely you have a weak blend door motor. which one you need is the hard part to diagnose, i usually pull one at a time and manually operate the gears to see if i can make the AC do what its supposed to. sometimes one side is hot, sometimes one side doesnt work, sometimes fresh air and recirc dont change. there can be up to 8 blend doors fitted.

hope that helps someone.

Anyone figure out what’s causing this issue? My dad has a 2017 200 and last year we had this problem. No air from the driver side AC vents. I re-initialized with Techstream and the problem went away. Today there was no air again from the driver side vents. I have a 2011 200 and never experienced this issue.
Hey HRTROB, is there a specific techstream to get. I'm looking at getting one for my 2018 VX 200
