But in all seriousness, while this particular truck has real sentimental value, at the end of the day it is just a collection of metal and has no real magical power other than what I artificially assign it. After much soul-searching I have come to my own conclusion that Land Cruisers don’t have souls other than the ones they attract.
What this truck has been, however, is a conduit for making a metric sh!tload of real & authentic friendships unbounded by timezone or walk of life, a huge collection of experiences that would have to be experienced to be believed, and a ton of new passions and skills.
It is this conduit that led me into a Rocket Science career, and is now leading me in a new (but Cruiser-related) direction that encompasses everything I’ve experienced in life up to this point.
It is also entirely true that a non-negotiable freeze on long vacations suddenly becomes negotiable when you put in your notice
