Resurrecting this thread. Is there any way that the suspension could cause scalloping? The wear is on the outside edge of the tire. Every other lug is lower than the one before it. But overall, the tread in this area is 1/4 less than the rest of the tires. I've got new globes and completely flushed and replaced the fluid 11 months ago. I thought I did a good job of bleeding the air out (I bled all four corners and refilled the reservoir like 4 times with suspension actuation and taking it for a quick drive on the last two bleeds).
My front passenger tire developed severe scalloping over time. I didn't notice it until it got really loud. I don't drive the LX much so I hadn't rotated the tires since I installed them 12 months ago. It's only had around 6 or 7 thousand miles put on it in that time, no tire rotation. But for only that one tire to get that bad? The rest look new still. These are kenda klever 35x10.50s. I've had 3 sets of these going back to my GX. Never experienced this issue. The tire place told me that this sort of scalloping on one tire usually happens because the suspension isn't keeping the tire flat on the ground (hopping up and down).
When they took the tire/wheels off, they checked it and said it was only unbalanced by a few OZ, whichbthey chucked up to the fact that it had lost rubber so unevenly. Not enough to cause this sort of wear. Is it possible there's air on that side AHC still, enough to cause this? I didn't have any crazy vibration that I'd think you'd feel in the car or even the wheel if that was the case. I run these tires at 35 psi. I ran them at 40 on my GX.
