i need to add some coolant, which is best ? royal purple , amsoil etc.

Toyota red. If you don't buy the diluted then you will need to mix with distilled water. The premix is pink.

do not mix coolant brands ever. Many have different chemicals than Toyota and in the 80 series at least would gum up

Might be worth it to get a toyota flush and fill as this is supposed to be good for about 100K miles. Again, don't mix brands

Probably should use pink but Toyota says you can top off with red.

Do not mix and Toyota OEM.
