Cause it was $30 cheaper for the pair (front and rear). It's not like this is OEM LV rubber. It's stuff for a 40. Should work just fine though.

Would the window inner felt like the kind Cruiser Corps sells for the FJ40 work on the wagon? It doesn't have any chrome edge on it but may be bendable for the window curves of the wagon.

Too short by about an inch and a half on the front and about 4 inches on the rear.

Ask me how I know.

Are we talking about the same window felt? I should have typed window run felt. Here is a picture.

It should not have a chrome edge. This type of weather strip is usually called window channel. I don't know if the 40 stuff would work. I doubt it as others have not used it in the past. My glass guy is supposed to bring me some samples this Friday. If I find something that works, I'll pass on the info.

I got the stuff from JCW yesterday and test fit a piece this morning.

I like it, but there's no holes for the clips. I suppose I could drill holes or use any number of modern adhesives.

The other thing I don't like, but is stock, is the lack of a lip on the outside of the door. The 40 stuff has this lip.

please excuse the polishing compound crud everywhere.

I have not installed the outer wiper yet. It is held in place by some small clips.

As for the windshield and tailgate ws, I used the repop 40 stuff. It worked okay. There are some wrinkles in the corners on the rear hatch.

For the windshield, the piece from SOR was actually too short. My glass guy brought some of the same stuff but a whole roll of it. It was installed with the key on the outside. There are no wrinkles in the corners this way. I really don't like the look with the key on the outside, but this will work for now.

I suggest talking with a glass guy before buying anything for the windshield or rear hatch. They may be able to supply something better. They make a offset gasket (for windshield) that would look and probably fit better too. My guy didn't have any of this though.

What did you use for the side windows? Is that 40 w/s as well?

Nope. My side windows are still in place with the factory ws.

Any indication the wrinkles will cause it to leak?

Not 100% sure. The inside is tight to the glass. I am more worried about dirt getting in there. It might be possible to trim and glue the corners for a better fit.

This is a great thread and I'm looking forward to the time that I need to get new WS... I hope that we can distill this down at some point to a simple list of WS that works...

Fixed glass (hatch, cargo sides, windshield)

Door glass (roll down and vent)

Side Doors to body

Tailgate and hatch to body

Door hinge gaskets

What else...?
