Amazing. Thanks for posting.

You couldn't have been shooting off of a tripod right? What settings did you use and what size zoom lens or is that all top secret?

your right, no tripod. I needed to be able to move fast, and there is no room for a tripod in the bleachers. Although I did see people who were using tripods. All of my shots were hand held. I shot most of them at...

ISO 800-1600
Shutter speed 250-1600
Aperture 9-16
Auto focus in servo
Center auto focus point only

The gear is a canon 1D Mark IV
Canon 400mm f/5.6 L
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM
Two amazingly fast memory cards.
The 1D can shoot 10 frames a second. With a fast card, I can blast through 30-40 frames in just a few seconds.

NICE IMAGES! Thanks for sharing them. We were there on Friday...just got in to catch Chuck Aaron doing flips in the BO-105. The first time I've been to an airshow (this one being epic @ 100 years of NavAir) and SAT...barely walked around. Somewhat regretting not seeing all of the legacy paint jobs on the modern A/Cs up close. Oh well, I know who probably has some picture of them.

Gotta say I'm still trying to get used to hear the new C-130s...they sound/buzz like an American Eagle regional puddle jumper, not the strong, 'GTFOOMW-now' sound that they had. And miss the JATO shots. I know, the modern variants basically added the fifth engine. The Blues also flew #7 on Friday. Have to say they opened up what appeared to be a few new moves and reformations, and they looked really tight, considering their former CO resigned in May due to busting team altitude standards (self imposed - maybe one of the last intellectually honest men left). I guess it helps to have the former CO available and willing.
