we're in!!! those dates work!

I have yet to retrieve Adams photos of Moab and Ouray. I'll post them up once I get them. Adam rode shotgun so He should have some good shots.
I'm ready already for the mountains

I am in for Aug 5-7, 2016.

Has anyone done the trails the guys did last year in a stock LX570? Assume AT tires, but that's it.

Sliders are must. Lift is not required. Good set of AT tires on 18" or 17" rims. 17" are best.

LX570 has insta lift - AHC

My question was whether anyone had done it in a stock Land Cruiser? I could probably install sliders, but a lift and huge tires is not something I'm open to at this point.

Sooo, after seeing all the pics from the last trip, I'd love to find a way to do this. It would be a huge long shot, but I've always wanted to drive cross country. Do you guys bring your kids with you, or is it an adult only trip? Camping? Who has a really long drive to get there...it's probably a two day drive for me.

My wife and 15 year old daughter came with me, and they will be coming back for next years run also! They had a blast! We live up near Seattle so if we drove straight there it's about 20 or so hours, but we took the long way. LA, Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon and then on to Ouray! This is like nothing else you will ever do, trust me, it's worth every minute you spend on the road. Just the huge sweeping landscapes of the Colorado Mountains alone are worth the drive, then add in the excitment of being in a convoy of 200's as you roll through the trails. And then the best part is meeting and chatting it up with other peops that have also tasted the coolaid and understand your not insane, you just love LC's... Just my 2 cents, I say plan your family trip around those dates and make it good ol fashioned Americana road trip! -Kreiten

It would probably be at least a 3 day drive for me.

Do you know Steen? He drove out from Atlanta this year.

I had my kids with me this year, no issues there. Just have to be careful with them around mine shafts, broken down mining buildings or the endless ledges and drops.

My wife and kids got scared. They will not be joining me next year. Not everybody can stomach that elevation and drop offs. But, scenery is priceless. I may bring along a friend, if he wants to come along.

It was 1000 miles one way for me. We did a night stop in Salt Lake City going to Ouray but coming back non stop in 15.5 hours we were home.

I would need to get there a couple days in advance to get acclimated to the elevation. Not sure I will deal well with the drop offs, though.

I had around 24 hours straight driving to get to Denver / Slee then it's another 3-5 south west to Ouray I think. I drove straight through from Louisville to Moab. No mercy for the rig.

I'd be up for caravanning cross-county. I know there are others that may be interested too.

21 hours from my house. Have done it three times, doesn't bother me anymore.

Can do it in two days or break into one evening plus two days, which is what I prefer on the way out. The way in I always do in two.

The trip would be worth it if it was twice that far.

Wife and kids went but stayed in town and played at park and hot springs while we all wheel'd. Atwalz and I were both stock except for sliders and a/t tires. Big changes for me next year though! :)

Same as last year, I'll update post #1 with new details or updates as we move along.
