Was up there last weekend for the 55 run. The grass was green the air was clean and cool the trail was in good shape.

I need some advice, since I finally found a bed for the 45, I currently have 35x12.50x15 on 10 inch rims with a 3.5" back spacing which really stick out and now I'm afraid they will contact the body under flex. Should i switch to 15x8's?. does anyone have a pic of an 8" and 10" with tire mounted next to each other.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice. Monday we are getting the steering box out, new tie rods ends, are in and we are getting there. See you on the trail

Just extend the bumpstops for now Mike. A lot less $$ than a hasty wheel change when you're not sure where you're headed with the truck.

Or I could loan you some 32s.;p

I'm thinking of making a mad dash down there and back. What is the schedule?

The FJ45 Run is Sept 1-3 (Sat/Sun/Mon). Labor Day weekend (US holiday) and Georg's birthday. Some people will arrive on Friday.

Thanks Harris. What I am asking is is there a trail run on Sat. and Sun? Break camp on Monday and head home?

My plan would be to arrive late on Friday and leave on the morning of Monday. That probably fits in with everyone else but, I have made long trips before with less info and missed out on stuff.

I am thinking of towing the 45 on a dolly. If I do that my wife will probably come. How close is the fishing and is spin cast or fly? Do you need a license to fish for the weekend? If so how much?

I am contemplating driving the 45 but it would be 24+ straight hours of driving and I'm not sure if I can get the time off for that. I have a work function on Thursday evening so I wouldn't be leaving until 10pm or so. That would make a real late Friday night arrival, at best. If I tow, the drive would be faster and the wife could share driving.

hey kevin.
i hope you can make the trip. i know you'll have a good time. try to hook up with bull and caravan donw here and back as a group. towing the rig on a dolley would probably not be a bad idea. just make sure you lupp the rear drive shaft out of it. you don't want to end up like ross at least year's SNT with a blown up t-case and missing drivelines.

the event "officially" starts on saturday but we have people arriving as early as thursday night. saturday is when most people show up. sunday is set aside for a trail ride followed by a pot luck dinner and the raffle and monday morning we're heading back home.

let me know if you have any other questions. i'll have to make sure that i come up with an "iron butt award" for you since you'll be driving the longest distance to make it to the event.

see you guys in 3 weeks!!!!!

PS: you will need a fishing permit. the can be bought for individual days. there's cast fishing right by camp, there ar a couple of lakes on the way to camp (about 2 miles away) and there's a great fly fishing only stream only a couple of miles up the highway.

shirts

I wont make this years event, but hope to be ready for next years. There was some talk earlier of shirt designs for this year? Did that get done? If so, I might want to buy one to inspire me during the final stages of a long restoration.... (post pics of shirts if available).

rodney aka bull is supposed to be doing the shirts. i will call him right now and will get back to you guys if he does'nt beat me to the punch.....

I will be there!

My daughter and I will ride in the 45, with my sweetheart & her 2 daughters and my 6 year old driving chase in the FJ Cruiser.

I plan on leaving Thurs with a stay somewhere on the way, should arrive mid-day Fri. Departing late Sun. to be back at work Tues.

My Bro' from Sunnyvale is hoping to join us ( He drives a Heep but wants to see all the 45's) I hope you all are open to this- he's a good mellow wheeler.

Can't wait to meet you all and Party 45 style! -Bill
