2001 Lx470 Air conditioning Mode button (1 Viewer)

I am having issues with the Mode button. I have to press it multiple times for it to change Modes. Anybody else have a finicky Mode button? If so what is the fix?

I took the face off and placed pieces of double sided foam tape between the button and the contact. Not only did it make the button work, but it made it feel solid, like how I imagine all buttons on a Rolls Royce would feel. I did this in 2019 and I would still recommend.

If you have aftermarket head unit, suspect that installer might not have reconnected the connectors well. Pry off the head unit cover with the climate control buttons and disconnect and reconnect the 4 connectors.

Happened to me. I had buttons that were very slow to respond and while fixing a speaker problem I disconnected and reconnected the climate connectors and now my buttons work normal.
