So this SET tray is a fantastic complement to the truck.

I am thinking about doing a similar build.

What, if any, modification to the frame rails/mounts is required to accommodate mounting one of these trays?

Such a cool build, nice work.
Sorry for the late reply! Lifes been busy as of late.

I would say definitely do it. It feels like a lot to take on, and it is, however the end result is worth it. Plus the build journey is part of the process.

The SET tray really, in my opinion sets these apart from the other 75/79 series and makes them functional. Reach out to Ralf the owner and let him know I sent ya. He has done a few 75's now and has all the measurements set and ready to go for the aluminum cross braces so the guessing work is done. He just needs your money and hell flat pack it down to any state.

Appreciate the kind words as well. It has been an absolute riot to build.

Recently added a few mods to make the 79 a bit more convenient for getting away for a few nights. With a 3-year-old and a 10-month-old I have really struggled with the sleeping situation. I have always wanted a RTT but it needed to accommodate all of us.

Finally, this iKamper X-cover popped up locally and ticked all the right boxes, sleeping 2 adults and 2 kids as well as being relatively low profile for a hybrid RTT. It is a bit more convenient, and it is a breeze to setup and take down, dare I say easier and quicker than conventional ground tent.

As for the fridge and slide it will be moved to the other side of the tray. 270 awning to be added next year.

Quick lap to the property with the littles! Hard to resist snapping a few pics!

Few things in the works for the exterior rear of the canopy. Rear amber facing work light as well as some internal canopy door lights. Jerry can holder and 5lb propane holder in the works.

A few additions of late. Quickpitch 270 awning installed, Terralume Industry Amber/white combo light in the canopy gull wing doors as well as a BajaDesigns external switched light to the rear of the canopy. Also added a jerry and propane holder.

Got out for the first time with the family and the new to us RTT and we loved it. Few things to sort out to get it dialled with the littles but so far so good! Take down is less than 10 minutes between the awning, RTT, and deflating the pads.

Several trips planned for this summer so looking forward to getting out and using it!

Awesome truck. Lots of inspiration here. Do you mind sharing any details on the roof work? I was putting together some part numbers in case I decide to get this done. How does this compare with what you ordered? Anything I'm missing?

Dude. Last night I was looking at firetrucks. That's on you and you should feel very guilty (proud).

Hopefully we'll get a little more time to compare notes next August... And maybe even
Forgive me father for I have sinned.... Its been 6 months since my last post haha

Haha GUILTY and PROUD I am. I will let you in on a little secret. My 79 may be up for sale sooner than I would have liked. It is a regrettable decision, and one that I will likely forever regret BUT family comes first and we have another addition to the gang on the way, due in July. Nothing is set in stone but its in the talks.

Looking forward to evening campfires (fingers crossed) and talks in comparing notes in August over a few brews!

My sincere apologies on the incredibly late response. The only part I didnt order was the lamp assembly as I reused what was existing.

That looks pretty near right in regards to a parts list. The headliner may require some modification. I have yet to install mine and will know more details come spring when I tackle that part of the build.

Hope that helps!

So as my previous confession went I am 6 months overdue in updates. Life is full tilt right now and its a season of head down and keep moving forward.
That being said here is my photo dump of the summer and a few adventures had.

No real order to these pictures and more of really just a photo dump.
