Oh man, you guys are in for a real treat. This is going to be one killer 55.

Mike, I still have not been able to talk the ol' Boss Man into letting me build mine alongside yours. Oh well. I'll let you have all the fun.
 
Wow a 55 that can 20 mpg . Looking forward to this one;)

1HZ's are still being made today. It's a helluva an engine and this build will be a cool, one of a kind 55. Can't wait to get started but we are still a few months out.
 
With the turbo i bet it will be in the 25 mpg range. I guess alot will depend on the tires and gearing. Right now i'm thinking 4:56 and 36's. The h55 should help too. I'm still going through the build my mind, which is a scary thought !

This is the same 55. We want to be able to go on long trips, wheel it hard, and come home in the same rig. More room is a plus as my 40 was loaded to the hilt at Rubithon, and i had to trailer it there.
Do you know anyone that needs a great running 2f, 4spd, and t/c ?
The motor is a Jasper rebuilt w/14k since the install. It runs VERY strong. You can drive it before buying it. Just a thought before it goes north. Mike

Some years ago I did the 1HZ into a FJ45 then installed a turbo, can we say fun.

3.70 gears, true 33 inch tires and and bet this thing was getting close to 25MPG highway, with a tail wind.

YOu will like that engine alot...

Cannot wait to watch this one.
