PS: What bulb and color should I order? Also, I have a set of Hella 4000 metals with city lights. am recommendations? Based on comments above, I will not try to fit HIDs in IPF fogs.

Bulb for the lows is 9006. Color is up to you. Personally, I think over 6k starts to look too blue/ghey/ricer and with the issue of already not having the appropriate reflectors, I wouldn't want to draw any additional attention to myself (cops).

5K is the highest K I will go. Anything beyond that it looks like a rice rocket and attracts cops.

I have 4500k in my hella 4000s. Super bright.

Noboby took a picture on the same road, before and after ?

Only comparison shot. I probably have some of the halogens but I can't find em. I took this with a cell phone, so it couldn't really capture what's left of the cutoff. The door shows a bit of it.

I also took some of the harness, and ballasts but of course I left my camera at home and I'm out of town without the 100 until Friday

Found this one, the way I have my IPF's wire is the headlights and fogs have to be on, so this picture shows my stock lows, fogs, and 2 ipf's on. It still isn't as bright as just my low HID. This was a while ago, but you get the point. They were not aimed, and camera was on auto feature, so it made all the light look the same brightness.

SPST automotive relay 30A
Coil rating : 12VDC.
160mA.
400 ohms.
size:2x1-3/16x1-1/8".

In out if town without my 100 until Friday. Until then I won't have pictures of anything other than a few night shots and crappy engine bay pictures.

Gotta love that pic of the blue bin! :flipoff2:

I used a relay for both headlights.

to clairfy, he means he used one relay per headlight, and we bought them at Radioshack.....so Anthony has the link to the exact relay we used

Thanks guys I'm off to Radio Shack for some relays! Pman I might PM you with some questions to verify a couple things. I've done this sort of thing on a previous car, but it was 10 years ago.

Sorry for the confusion Anthony. We used a relay for each headlight. I didn't realize how confusing it looked.

Post up some pics after your done!

I was worried the 55w was going to be to bright. But I'm happy they sent me the wrong ballasts.

A few observations:
• There are very few good mounting places, espicially since my kit did not come with actual brackets. It came with double sided tape, which is actually very strong.
• if the ballasts don't ignite the first time, don't worry, just push the 9006 socket into the ballast plug harder. We thought we made an error. But I didn't plug it in all the way, even after I heard the click.
•A friend of mine had a similar kit and I heard that after a while the bulbs would vibrate loose, if that's our cases I'll add a small drop of glue to stop them from backing out.

That is all....

I love my headlights

is this the harness? $15 - so are you saying with this harness it's basically plug-n-play for low beams?? No fiddling with the reflector or creating modified cut-off's or anything???
HID and Lighting Accessory: DDM Tuning - HID Kits, DEPO Lights, BMW Bumpers & Lighting

What about this "Slim Ballast" 55W kit, what's the difference with that and the "raptor" ballast - just smaller???
Slim Ballast - $59 (55W) - DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast (35W or 55W): DDM Tuning - HID Kits, DEPO Lights, BMW Bumpers & Lighting
Regular Kit - $39 (55W) - Apexcone Raptor HID Kit (35w or 55w): DDM Tuning - HID Kits, DEPO Lights, BMW Bumpers & Lighting

Yep, that's the harness. You only need one relay in the system. And at $15 that's a smokin' deal.

Just a different kit, may be better quality, may not. It's their name on it, so maybe they use better bits.

The ddm slim ballasts have a better rap with quality. I have two kits and in almost a year I've never had a issue with them.
