Yeah same. They were super rare new and the older they get, the less there will be of them. Plus, who knows.. maybe one day they will be worth a lot more compared to "base". Kind of like there's a big premium nowadays for rare spec MKIV Supras.
Having an HE is the only reason I haven't done more mods so far. I was going to go with a full replacement front bumper, rear, etc but elected to just go with a hidden winch mount and no rear bumper. I want to be able to pull everything off and have it look like an original HE.

Sure, but more fun to modify them and run em like any other LC

Ehh, being that the differences are purely cosmetic and limited to items that can easily be swapped over (headlights, wheels, etc) Im not sure they are "more fun to modify". In fact, maybe even less since all the HE goodies are already on the rig. Ex. Im stocking up on HE parts to put on a "base" and keep the HE all stock and original. Just as fun.

Unfortunately (or fortunately for all of us HE owners who have to see the clones) - removing the door cladding and cool box and changing the thread colors are not possible for an effective price point.

True. For me personally though the door cladding helps from damage when I open the other vehicles doors in the garage and bump the LC, the stitching color I prefer in black, and the cool box was a big factor in buying a Land Cruiser at all. So I would not change those at all.

But that is really besides the point, since collectors want original. So if I chose to modify a rig, it would only be with parts that I could easily reverse back prior to selling the vehicle and none of those are.

Nice shot. How are you finding the slee rear and swingouts?

Did you install it yourself?
I did not install it myself.

Quality is amazing. I’ve dropped it on many a rock, and it never flinches. Only thing I’ve had to “maintain” or keep an eye on is the weight of the right swing out. In the summer I have a lot of weight on it compared to the winter, which changes how it opens and closes a bit, but I also probably don’t have it dialed in perfectly.

I can assure you they will never be worth more than 1 of 7 E7-200M’s assuming owners stay up on maintenance and do tasteful upgrades.

I have no doubt low-mile HE 200’s will hold decent relative value, I’ve been offered some dumb money for mine (sub 100 miles) and I’ve been likely ‘dumber’ for not taking it.

That depends on what someone is willing to pay for a used 1 of 7 E7-200Ms relative to its price when new, percentage wise compared to an unmodified HE with similar miles.

If used E7-200M sell for $300k, similar to how majority of HEs currently sell near their $90k msrp, then I will see myself out.

I’ve seen this grey LC a handful of times here in Encinitas. Primarily here at Swamis after a surf. You on here? Clean build on 35s. I’m on 285/75 r17s but man the 315s looks gooood.
