Love it. Breakfast hits different when it's outdoors, and that looks like a proper full plate breakfast.

I spy a Wrappon toilet. How's that working for the family? There's more approachable models on the market today and I've been thinking about one to keep the ladies happy.

Burrito overlanding is my kind of overlanding. Instead of the whole kitchen I stop at a taco shop on the way out of town, pick up a few burritos and throw them in the cooler. Then when I want to eat I just cut one in half throw it in the air fryer for a few minutes and enjoy with salsa.

We make a point to eat big early and ride that calorie wave over the day, this usually makes lunch a quick and easy event.

The wrappon is worth the coin, hands down. We bought a second as a backup and other road trips. The newer ones have different legs that could cause issues in soft terrain.. they are pointy versus the rounded style on the green one. Yes, it’s cost prohibitive and there are the supplies you need to buy. However, it simplifies things to such a level that it’s worth it for us.

100% on the burritos, less mess and less dishes. We’ve debated on adding an air fryer to our setup but we’re at that old dog age where new tricks are tough to embrace… maybe the right size would tempt us.

The breakfast burrito game in NM is on another level. When we roll through Abq we hit up a few NM food favs while we crash with the in laws. Between the NM food and my mother in laws cooking we all gain whatever we lost while camping plus a few for the road.

@turbo8 Do you happen to have a list of tools required for install? I looked over the instructions but I didn't see anything
I dont remember off the top of my head, but if you're talking about the E&E skids set, it only needed some basic tools for install, a few sockets and allen keys.

That’s all I’m seeing based off the hardware, wasn’t sure if I needed anything special to get the stock one off. I have access to a lift but it’s about an hour from home, so I don’t want to forget anything. These skids are some serious gourmet s***

Nope. I installed mine with tires barely off the ground on jack stands in my garage.

You don’t need a lift. Just a couple of hours, a decent creeper and some patience. Also for hex sockets I bought the icon set at HF they worked really well. Buy nice ones don’t cheap out. And tighten everything by hand. You’ll be tempted to use power tools but it’s important to do it by hand.

As others have mentioned, just basic metric sockets and Allen's. For removing the stock stuff, regular toyota metric socket stuff.

If installing the power steering cooler guard, you might need cutting tools, for either the gaurd itself or some of the bumper molding. Their may be some brackets that are riveted onto the crash bar that will need to be removed or bent out of the way. I talk about it here.

We went outside our comfort zone and camped at an established campground outside Saguaro NP west and hit up the NP parks and a few other Tucson things. It’s definitely a different desert vibe there. We then headed to Organ Pipe and ran around there a little. We had plans on taking El Camino del Diablo to Yuma but was advised against it due to recent rain…bummer but good reason to come back. Headed back east to Gila NF and eventually civilization outside Albuquerque to visit in laws. Gila will require a return trip as it was far cooler than we were prepared for.

This wraps up our 2025 camping season, 44 nights out and 9,289 miles of towing through 13 states. Soooo close to our 50 night goal, gotta pump those number up in 2026.

You got the best of many worlds, a wife and kids who enjoy getting out there, a well equipped LC and that trailer is amazing! Good for you getting on it. Well done!

EE skids are on! Sprayed some fluid film on there as well since I had it up in the air. Everything went together perfectly, just needed a few attempts to get the plates aligned with the subframe. Kind of wish it would clear the OEM transfer case guard, I would have liked to have kept that piece on there. Still impressed how nicely these are machined, almost feel bad getting them dirty!

I hit the wife lottery, thankful every day for that.

Few things better than a good meal in the desert. I especially like a breakfast burrito with home made chorizo. Homemade boerewors on a charcoal grill isn't bad. The best meal I had in the desert was some Lebanese friends that brought a case of lamb chops and spent the night roasting them to perfection and insisting everyone eat more than their fill.

One of last trips to the Rub' Al Khali

I’d love to hook up with some locals and tour around that area of the world. I have no idea where to even start but it looks like a neat place.
