Couple of weeks old but - I went off-roading with the Texas Rovers group and had some good times at Merus Adventure Park. Had a blast and hope to go back again.

Long time lurker, first time poster... Finally got my hands on a 2008 JDM LC200 (with a 4.7L V8 (2UZ-FE) engine, cloth interior, no sunroof, no KDSS, just gen1 crawl control) with 51K kms! ~4 months after winning the auction, it finally got delivered at the Vancouver port... Couple of weeks ago it passed inspection and got registered!
Last week I was able to change the oil, and confirm all other fluids and levels were ok!... And we finally did the first longish drive over the weekend with the family... It was unreal!!

I've been dreaming with one of these Land Cruisers since 2008 when they were first imported to my home town, but back then I was broke and trying to move to Canada... Since then, it was a "dream car" kept in the back burner, with minivans and econo-cars taking precedent for years, but it's finally here!!!

So many plans for this thing... I'm going to remove the front and rear bumper extensions, just need a heat gun, some time and lots of patience...
Just confirmed that all 4 shocks are leaking oil, so a 2" Ironman4x4 Foam Cell Pro suspension and UCAs have been ordered!!
Next, 2 weeks after winning the auction, I was able to get a set of 17x8.5 Icon Vector 5s on clearance (in Matte Bronze!)... These have been living rent free in my head for as long as I've been waiting for the LC.
After installing the suspension, I'll mount these on a set of 285 KO3s; still unsure if 70/R17 or 75/R17... Have read a lot about both sizes, so I'm still debating pros and cons.

Anyway, I'm so happy to start this new chapter with this LC200 and continue reading and learning from all the relevant threads that are in these forums... \
Cheers,

Hi all, long overdue, but I wanted to share an update on the build...

Finally received all the stuff I ordered months ago from Australia, the US, and Canada (through West Coast Off-Roaders; they're a super friendly and knowledgeable off-road store in the BC North Shore--highly recommended), and I've been waiting soooo patiently for the LC to be done...

Well, it's done! At least, for now... So far, this is what's been installed...
- I finally removed the front and rear bumper extensions that came with the LC... Whoever installed these things was NOT planning on getting rid of them anytime soon!!... They were attached with 10+ nuts and bolts each! holding them together pretty permanently. There's a bunch on holes left on both bumpers, I love how it looks without those lips, so I don't really mind the holes.
- I also installed the Icon wheels and ended up going with the 285/75R17 BFG KO3s! They look and drive really good! And the rubbing is minimal by now... I love how the tires got pushed riiiight to the edge of the body.

The new...
- I drive a lot between BC and AB, and this thing is thriiiiiiisty, so I ended up ordering a Long Ranger 90L Auxiliary Hi-Clearance Fuel Tank... It works effortless and being able to refill the OEM tank while driving is a game changer!
- Like I mentioned before, I really like the look of the LC's OEM bumpers, so I've never considered changing the bumper... So, I found in Australia the Wheel Carrier - Right from Kaymar... This thing is truly great! Especially because it installs directly to the frame and the rear bumper.
- And, because the OEM suspension was busted, I improved the suspension to a 2" Ironman4x4 Foam Cell Pro Kit with Upper Control Arms.
I got the medium load springs front and rear... The rear is super smooth with the added weight (gas tank + tire carrier), but considering that I'm not adding anything to the front, I'm considering swapping the Med front coils for some Light load coils... We'll see, because oddly enough, this was one of the parts that took the longest getting to Canada.
- Finally, this trim of LC didn't come with roof rails or sunroof, and I need to keep the third row for a while longer. So, I installed an ARB Base rack with deflector... This thing is quiet, and has a ton of adapters for literally anything you can imagine.

Anyway, that's it for now... It's been a lot of waiting, and a lot of money! But this has been my dream build since I can imagine... So, it's been worth it (at least for me) and I'm super excited to continue driving it and taking my family to all the places!

Thanks all!... I'm adding a few pictures of the build so far

Looks sharp, I really like that Kaymar swing-out. How well do the rear parking sensors work with the swing-out latch? It almost looks like one is covered up.

So far, I haven't had any issues... It has continued working as usual... It also helps that now I'm ~5in taller than most obstacles :)

This looks great! Do you happen to have a part number for the Kaymar Wheel Carrier? Thanks!

Sure thing, part number is K20010R, and here's the link to the part:

And although they could ship internationally, according to one of their CS reps, but not to Canada.
Hope this helps,

Absolutely ugly as sin. But also, probably one of the most capable camping rigs in existence.
So ugly it’s beautiful?

The more I looked the more questions I had. I’d enjoy tour of this thing, I bet it’s pretty rad and probably has a spot for a falcon.
