Ah, one of my favourite corners on #20.

Back in my riding days I used to frequent that run at least once per month. The boys and I had a rather infamous run in with the local authorities one year!

This sounds like a good story - if you get bored and want to tell it I’d love to read it

I've told the story over beers plenty of times, but it's not the kind of thing I want to share online. The internet never forgets, and there are parties in the story that could still face problems as a result of the dumb decision made on that day.

I'll share how it started and how it ended:

[Start]
- Highway 20, heading back home after lunch, doing exactly the same thing as before lunch, with the same group of people.
- Thought, to self: "That forest-ranger SUV with flashing yellow lights on the side of the road... that couldn't be for us, could it?"

[Many poor decisions and exciting events go here.]

[End]
- Hallway outside a WA state court room, months later.
- Lawyer: "The prosecutor is willing to end the matter right now if each of you pays a $50 speeding ticket. No charges, no criminal records."

Lessons were learned.

Decided to treat the wife and kids to a spa day, Cruiser style. Thankfully, my wife is adventurous and I have boys. We broke from our regular routine and camped at a National Park so our camper outdoor shower is a no go. Lots of dirt around here so we found a spot with a nice view and had showers.
