My wife put 9,800 miles on her R1T. We have had some niggling quality issues - which eventually resulted in a buy back/trade to the R1S you see above.

This has been fine so far (3600 miles)
They bought it back? They already lose nearly $35k on EVERY truck sold. I suspect this company does not last.

They used to lose 100k per truck. As volume ramps up their losses will turn into profit.

Subaru bought my 16 WRX back as well. CA lemon laws.
 
The ~40k dent repair bill story is quite concerning with the Rivians. I don’t own one, and the trade-offs may be worth it, but that would put a pause on me even considering one.
Apparently that particular instance was greatly overblown and eventually solved with basic paintless dent removal.

But I've seen other stories of minor fender benders on the R1T that did require tends of thousands of replacement parts. If that trend continues, insurance companies will undoubtably end up charging insane monthly premiums (or deny coverage altogether).
