Hi,

Could anyone give a ball park value on this truck? '79 4x4 Toyota Pickup. Runs and drives, 20r and 4 speed. 4wd supposed to work good. Does need new tires. I do not know the mileage or how much rust it has. Supposed to have a clean title. So saying its not too rusty what is a fair price?

Heres a pic. Only have this one pic.

A) Depends on your location, I'm going to assume Oklahoma

B) Assuming anything about rust is a huge mistake, as it would be the #1 determinant as to what I would pay for a 1st gen truck

So without that info... it's purely a guess. Straight body and clean title.... since you asked? $3k

Geez, I'd take a zero off. No more than $500 without knowing more.

Yeah I am in Oklahoma.

I understand, would definitely want to check out what rust it has. 3k even though it needs tires?? I agree with pappy, seems high to me, even going off the picture. But that is just a guess, I know. I asked the guy for more info but he has not contacted me back yet. If I get more info I will post to get a more accurate quote.

Bottom line. This truck is a project. Which means lots of time and money.

I notice Pappy’s location mentions palm trees… As I said in your other thread, location makes a big difference. Anywhere with palm trees probably means vehicles last and old trucks are a dime a dozen. Not so in the rust belt, but $3K does seem high.

I currently live where they do occasionally salt roads, cuz it occasionally snows (New Mexico). The Palm Trees and Cool Streams location is where my head usually is. VIVA BAJA!

I’m just saying I’d love to find pretty much any vehicle that is roadworthy for $500… I bought a parts truck with a rotten frame and bed for $1K and felt that was a good deal.

Im in Missouri and we do have a lot of rust here I would assume Oklahoma is about the same as here, I know I cannot find any running yota's here for sale the people just keep them. only when they stop running they sell them I have three sitting in my yard now that I picked up for 3-500..... two run but both have knocking rods both on #3 for some reason.
