Wayne

Will be a few days until I can get you some prices.
We have a long weekend here in NZ so Monday is a day off....
Well it is for most.

Its is Saturday as I type this.

Update finding and ECU....

They are becoming rare over here also....Checked out numerous wreckers and none *_(

But some did say the KZN130 ECU works, but none of those also.....

Will keep looking.

Yeah, I have been told the boys down here are using a manual pump from a 2LT and having it modded...
As the 1KZT pumps are rare?

Keep us updated...

manual pump from a 2LT will be easier to find ... 85-89.

i will contact the customer and see if he wants to go down this road.

thanks M8

KZ-T injection pump: 89661-3D091 not available from Japan.
trying 5L pump now....

damn guys, do your research before purchasing a vehicle.

how about mitsubishi pump from 4M40 engine? is it rare back there?hth

re: 1kzt pump, afaik part number is 22100-67060. a guy from UAE once offered that pump but the price is quite steep.

i saw a thread about the mits pump being installed but it needed a bunch of attachments removed.
if all else fails then i will try it, i would feel more comfortable if this was my truck to practice on.

will try the other part number.

thanks

Crushers' keepposting on this 1kz-te to mechanical pump conversion, might have to do it myself one of these days.

Would a 3B pump work? I know 5L does.

I am currently seeking out guys who have converted to mechanical pumps here in NZ.
And asking what they are doing, how etc etc.

Will keep you posted

Try with the 2L-T (90hp) Pump :hhmm:

The problem is to set the pump (2L-T) to work well...

A good friend made this conversion (1KZ-T engine with a 2L-T Pump), but has failed to pump work well, the end will have to buy a KZ-T Pump, but while the pump serves (2L-T)

Good Luck! ;)

a friend mechanic of mine said that fuel delivery will suffer since 2LT is only for 2.4Liter engine while you need a pump that can deliver to a 3Liter engine. but dont take this as gospel truth.:D
btw, a according to a guy from pakistan(gibli of toyotadiesel) 2LT pump is almost the same as the 1KZT pump. you can use tha 2LT pump provided you change the "rotor" from 9mm(2LT) to 12mm(1KzT). (i do not know if this can easily be done since i am not a mechanic).:D

I have been rinigng around and found a shop that does several of these conversions each month.
Some for boats and others for Vehicles.
They utilise some of the internals from your electronic pump, the cam, rollers etc etc.
Then fit it to a housing from a 2LT.
And generally fit a new 12mm hydraulic head.
Then its on the test rig for tuning...
Cost is $1300 NZD with donor pump.

I am waiting for availability of the 5L pump ...
I will contact you if this also goes sideways.

I want to thank you for all your help M8

I have just realised I have an engine manual for the 1KZT, which has tear down and rebuild for the mech pump and calibration tests.....
If interested I can scan it and post it to a file sharing server.

I have been told just cause the pump (5L) will fit and was about a 3 litre engine, you may have issues as the pumps are matched to the injectors.
Also output pressure.

there have been a few guys running the 5L pumps on the KZ with (supposedly) no issues.
but
i take everything with a pound of salt.

having the mech pump on line might be good for the community.

I dont know if your interested, but there are alot of those trucks in Germany... I can see if I can price one out. Shipping should be cheap as Im Canadian Military over here and would just have to pay shipping from belleville.

Let me know, though Germans can be odd and insist on a VIN number when ordering parts.

KZJ78-0012658 is the VIN on of the vehicle that Wayne is working on.

Thanks!
