Updates

here are just a couple more pics i dug up from the conversion. Below are some shots of the rad shroud i fabricated from sheetmetal (DO NOT TRY TO MODIFY YOUR OLD SHROUD, YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME  ;p ), and the port on the rad that had to be cut and turned for more fan clearance. Yeah the rad is ugly (well lookes better after it was painted...) but hell, IT DON'T LEAK! :flipoff2:

EDIT: Also, just to update you on some of the porblems i last posted with, the hard start problem was a bad battery. We load tested each and replaced the weak battery....problem solved, only need to hold the key for a fraction of a second now...
The tail light issue was just crossed wires at the bulbs as suspected.....wierd...

Great info here VTCruiser and HDJ105!

I got a good lead here for an HJ-60 orignial LHD with PTO winch and that high rooftop for about US$6,250. I'm more interested in it now than the BJ-40 that was shown to me earlier... so this thread will help me fix 'er up a bit and maybe shove in a 1HD-T and A442F as well.

sounds awesome man, keep us posted!

But its not like you're hurting for turbo-diesel cruisers.....haha. A 1HD-T would be bad ass and just as easy only you got the turbo/IC plumbing etc. to hang. There is PLENTY of room in the 60 bay for all this.

I am still saving up for my turbo....

The only thing still not working since the sway is my tac, the 1HZ (and 1HD-T's probably) have the fuel pump mounted pick-up and is not calibrated properly for the HJ60 guage where the pickup orginally was on the bell housing.

VT could you use a HZJ75 tach behind the HJ60 dash?

just finished reading this threat, looks like a nice job done!! congrates.
how did you mate the 1HZ with the H55F? was it a direct bolt up?
cheers from COLD Alberta

rosco - how big is the 75 tac? 60 series cruiser have a that very small tac in the middle of the cluster...

My petrol 73 series has a small tach, about 3 in dia to the left of the speedo and my manual shows the same sized unit on a HZJ75.
At some stage they swapped over to the large type with the dial overlapping with the speedo,as in that red FZJ73 convertable I posted a couple of weeks back.

Anyway I was thinking maybe the unit behind the dial are similar and could be swapped over regardless of the dial size.
After all,its just a longer needle
