Just caught up on this thread, looks like a fun rig. This time of year is great with the fall colors. Get those miles in before they salt the roads!

Towing test 382 miles round trip towing this 3200lb camper. Completely different experience than what I'm used to with the 3.4l tundra, this little camper really slows the tundra down big time. The cruiser doesn't drive much different, red-arc brake controller worked nicely.

kept it around 65 (corrected) most of the time, pretty flat the whole way, ECT power mode
outside temp 55 F
2500 rpm
7psi
720 F EGT
trans temp 155 F
air intake temp 110 F
16.8 mpg (corrected)

Pretty sure I'll go ahead with the overdrive transfer-case gears soon. 1st gear is almost a waste, it's gone in about 1 second taking off, never needs to downshift

just wondering where you found that exhaust
manifold?

After I bought this I found out that safari and DTS also make T3 twin scroll manifolds that are probably a better fit for the 1hz/1hd-t (they don't advertise the fact that they are T3) but the Tillux manifold should be great match for 1HDFT/FTE

I'm thinking about bolting an external waste-gate on just so I can have a screamer pipe.

It's been out of the salt all winter. This spring I changed the break in oil, I did notice the steering box had a small leak, also a little play with 275k miles on it. old sector shaft was not only twisted but if you chucked in the lathe you could see its bent.

local shop rebuilt the box with larger stronger 105 shaft with a genuine seal kit. no cracks found on the frame but I installed the Delta VS brace kit to prevent that in the future.

nice steering with no loose spot. Installed sumo overdrive high range transfer case gears, attempted to convert the transfer case to mechanical shift but was a couple parts short. Installed Lutz Auto - Speedometer Correction Device, Bolted on the trail tailor creeper skidplate and headed out to the relic run in NC! truck did great on the road there, gearing is about right i think, 2500RPM at about 72 MPH. about 900 miles round trip.

On the trails I couldn't ask for anything better, the truck is able to crawl pretty slow with 4.88s and 3:1 Tcase. I did cut the wire for low range input to the transmission ECU so that it would shift though the gears faster in low range, now most trail speed I'm in 3rd gear and if there is a downhill section I want to slow the truck I can just pull back into 2 or if its really steep L , Ran many of the trails there including dutch john, dickie bell and backside of daniel. I'll get the front side next time I'm there. Had a great time and got to meet some MUD members for the first time! Loads of cool trucks there.

sent my antenna switch out to @63FST for a makeover, just hooked up the in cab winch control this weekend. Super easy to wire. The winch contractor draws about half the amps of the antenna motor so switch should last a long time like this.

Looks fantastic! ;)

Must be nice to push a factory button and get your winch controls. For all other owners....I have both decals and the service to install them for an extra fee.

Hope you enjoy your this awesome project 💯
