Build 1993 refreshed (now gone) and 1995 build up with new OEM engine

I like the window surround painted gloss vs satin black. You can’t maintain that factory satin black which eventually turns to flat black. This you can maintain and polish over time.

1st row seats! Like I have stated in the build thread the Scheelmanns in it now are not going with this Cruiser. A very generous customer of ours gifted these to me after we finished x2 builds for him so they do hold some sentimental value to me. Meaning; not for sale!

However way back in the build thread you can see how I refreshed the OG seats and put Specter Off-Road Tuff Duck canvas seat covers on them. That plus Toyota lower (arse) seat foam. It’s no Scheelmanns but it is good and solid and can hold a person over until they do Scheelmanns!

The 2nd & 3rd row have been wrapped up and put aside up on a shelf for some years now. The buyer said toss the 3rd row! I get it but should we harvest this rare 95+ OEM cloth fabric on them that is mint first!?

Definitely harvest the cloth, I have the tan oak 95-97 cloth and took all the fabric off of the third rows and put it in storage. Tossed the 3rd row foam/frames. I plan to replace my worn driver seat fabric with it at some point.

It’s a rare and very hard to get fabric for sure and like most 80’s it’s nearly perfect on the 3rd row.

More pictures of the paint clean up. We are still going to touch up small chips and scratches but man, I have done many many off-road trips in this Cruiser. For it to clean up like this surprises me, especially since last guy that polished it said that was it, not enough clear left for another polish. You can see he was wrong!

I also installed this today. The 105-series canister I had in it was not cutting it under extreme conditions so feeling good this should solve that.

All new parts here besides the frame and glass.

Got all the glass back in the Cruiser.

Got the side accent trim back on this door.

Got the trail rash polished off the mirrors and installed.

Cowl cap all polished up and done.

Different light to show it’s actually pretty straight and clean down the sides. 6m1 gets a lot of hate but I LIKE it!

However I try my best to not get to attached to a Cruiser and to focus on the next one when saying goodbye to one like this. I am excited to get my LX going as well as my other three Cruisers! I am sure at least one of the next four Cruisers if not two will be sold some day as well.

I remember seeing that cruiser in your other shop before your move where you are now back in Jan of 2020. I had just bought my cruiser on December 8th 2019 and you were the first place I stopped in to talk cruisers. I saw this one in the back of your shop with a canoe strapped to the top. What a beautiful transformation over these years. Btw, you had that ‘93 in the parking lot still at the time and mentioned you were going to sell that and build this one, time flies. Beautiful rig!
