He might have just put a hex on that radiator nipple

Oh no, beat it with those hexes!

It’s a two year old radiator, I been careful with it so, all good.

😆

I'm sorry to hear that. It is a shame to fix something that isn't broken
:hmm:

Well, when it fails I will put a Denso back in it. Installed 5-6 though and had no issues, so 🤷🏼‍♂️

More finalizing.

Having a beer before I go grab a burger. So what's left!?

-Drain fuel tank and fill with fresh gas, I got a new plug and gasket for it.
-I de-woodgrained the shifter cover today but it needs the lame glue removed still.
-Install console.
-Install front seats.
-Yank rear 3rd row seats.
-Finish wiring on RHS battery area of engine bay.
-Install lower rad hose.
-Hook up throttle cable, kick down cable and CC cable to throttle body.
-Install glove box.
-Top off trans, I am waiting to do the filter and fresh fluid until I run it.
-Coolant, I got plenty of Toyota Red on hand but need to grab some distilled.
-Install battery tray and battery.
-Install DEPO headlights, front corner lights and front marker lights.
-Install grill, the 93/94 grill is getting installed later.
-Bleed brakes.
-Install new front fender to frame seals/skirts. I think I still am waiting on one or two.
-Install windshield washer bottle and fill.
-Fill P/S and purge of air.
-Adjust hood, new catch installed today but it needs adjustment.
-Time it once running, I like 8*.
-Install trans cooler lines in engine bay. The ones from the cooler loop to radiator.
-Install my Michelin 285s and wheels off the 93 I have sitting around.
-Repair ground at tcase.
-Check everything four times over and re-torque as needed.
-Wash the turd! It's been several years!!

I think that is it. Guess I was tripping on 4hrs to finish it out. I am taking my time though and not cutting a single corner. I got a few things in hand or on the way such as;

-Outside mirrors, new OEM 6M1 in route.
-Rear view mirror, got a 70-series which I think is a match.
-Drivers sun visor, mine sags hard.
-Window squeegees, got some already.
-Wiper arms, blades and window washer nozzles.
-Front seat covers, need to order these ASAP.
-New windshield and window runs.
-Install new OEM drivers seat cushion.
-Rebuild rear hubs and both F&R e-lockers.
-Full shampoo on headliner and carpet and front seats.

It is getting an alignment on Tuesday and an A/C recharge. few little things left after that like get all my fender flares Rhino/Linex lined included replacing the busted one, I have that one already. Probably do new gaskets/welting at same time. New weather stripping where I feel I need it. Already installed new hood and rear hatch struts, OEM Toyota.

After all this, I will start on upgrades and mods. I wheel my trucks so I will start with;

-OME medium lift, I like it low and just going basic to start. I will do up the entire suspension at the same time. Caster, sway bars, bling shocks, panhards and more.
-315's and wheels.
-Belly skid, either SLEE or Cruisin' Off-road.
-Sliders.
-Stereo install. Already got a bling head unit, sub amp and sweet JL Audio sub.
-Front bumper, I like the SLEE.
-HD TRE's and drag link.
-Lighting, inside and out.
-Rear bumper, probably a 4x4Labs.
-New exhaust, Otram set up.
-Winch. I am a WARN fan.
-Aux fuel tank.
-Roof rack.

I am sure there is more but this is the direction the build is headed. Laugh all you want but you would have to offer me $40k in cash for it right now before I do more, I am not even sure I would take that!!

Cheers

It’s quarter to 8pm and I am still at the shop. See if I can get some of the videos uploaded tonight of it’s first start and running.

Right now I am just relaxing and having a beer while I stare at it. 😆

Cheers

A few more because the light is just right and I am standing here gawking at it. 🤣

This is probably the nicest Cruiser I have ever owned. Some people don’t like the 6M1 and this truck has a few flaws but I love it! 😍

Time for some wax on, wax off action. That water is not beading up very much at all.

It’s been sitting for at least four years, so ya. 🤷🏼‍♂️

So here is a 70-series rear view mirror compared to an 80-series.

And here is the 70-series all mounted up in my truck.

I have had the 70 mirror laying around for over a year so figured why not see if it fits, it is new OEM and sure enough it fits great.

Then the 70 series mirror should also work in a 60 series. I'm using an 80 series mirror in my FJ60, bolts right up and the angle is good.

I don’t know availability of 60/80 because I have not tried to order one but the 70-series is readily available and not bad price wise.

Psh should have kept those sweet butterfly stickers lol. What’s the bump in the rear of the mirror for? Is that just part of the molding process or is there something that connects to the back?

Alright, put my first 15 miles on it tonight. Ran over to a friends to show it off. Got my grill, and front lights in today too.

Transmission is no probs at all and working excellent. Engine is unbelievable, quiet, smooth and all that.

I never did really test this truck before this project started. So what doesn’t work?

-Old school JVC head unit is dead, zero music in the truck which sucks. Got to install my new head unit soon.
-Diff locks don’t want to engage, I am sure they are all gummed up, so need to pull them and rebuild/clean.
-Rear window washer not working, I am sure it is the diverter valve.
-D light doesn’t work and I am in no rush to tear the dash apart to fix it.
-Power switch for trans not working but 2nd start does. It was totally gummed up from spilled sodas so probably need a new switch.
-Need new bulbs in my front running lights. They are DOA.
-Need new bulb in my trans selector, got nothing.
-Have not tried A/C yet because it is still not charged.
-Have not tried to get ABS to engage.
-Have not tried cruise control yet.
-Got one door courtesy light not working.

That’s it, everything else has been tested and is working fine. The new steering is unbelievable, I don’t think I have ever driven a Cruiser with this nice of steering. Brakes are awesome, working excellent. T-case is no worries, smooth and quick in and out of low.

Not a single leak on the truck yet anywhere. 😆

Cheers

For a 70-series there is a little rubber piece that goes from that to the windshield, I would say that is a damper of sorts.

Cheers
