Wow cool. I'm half Maltese. My great grandfather and grandmother came from Malta. Nice cruiser. Where do u go 4wheeling in Malta? Seemed like the island has a lot of people when I visited. Eat a Pistizzi for me:) Also, what material did you make your gauge pod out of?

You gotta know the spots around here and hope you're not trespassing private land

But we're a ferry away from Sicily so that's where most of us go for a fun 4wd trip.

I'll have a pea one for you :grinpimp:

ABS for the gauge pod, specifically ABS+ from 3dprima.com

For anyone who'll be fabricating my bumper, I strongly suggest doing heftier tow points that can take at least a 19mm bow shackle or use a swivel tow point like I did.

Oh and please put a photo on here if anyone does fabricate it, would be cool to see how similar they'll look when ready :)

Thanks for sending the files through! I'm in the process of getting some quotes for the cutting and folding and will post up how I get on. May take a while as Im quite busy at the moment!

Finally got around at opening up my R151f to see the state of its internals and also to change some synchros since the guy I bought it off said 3rd and 4th gear stick abit to go in. Also want to see how 5th gear looks like before buying a new set to get a higher ratio - will be using Jeep AX15 gears for this, will explain more about it later.

Once I opened the transfer adapter case I noticed there where some gear fragments and keys running around and lots of bronze-like paste stuck to the inside - Not a good sign :bang:

Continued disassembling to finally open last casing and see main shaft gear assembly. Everything looks fine apart from 3rd and 4th synchro components. The fragments found are from the synchro hub, all 4th gear mating side broke off and the synchro ground down to a plain bronze ring. Similarly, 3rd gear synchro teeth all worn off.

Hi Warren :) I'm from Iklin, and you? Yes sure, would love to.
I live in Tarxien... Your LJ is awesome. And you seem a guy who knows what you are doing. Thumbs up man!
I am trying to put one of them on the road, but still have some mechanical issues to resolve, and haven’t started with upgrades yet...
Is there a pm system on here.. we can exchange Mob nos?

Finally got hold of a set of Dobinsons 60/65mm springs. I'm keeping the Ironman foamcell shocks, I like them and they're still good. The uncompressed length of the dobinsons vs. the ironman springs is the same so they're a good match too. Actually after installing the new dobinsons the truck sits very much the same as it did on the Ironman, but I have no spacers to compensate for the driver's side lean now. I just hope the dobinons stay this way.

Oh and some more progress on the veeeery long R151 overhaul. I was very busy and didn't have time to continue this but should have some more spare time now so hopefully I'll get it closed up and ready to go in. I wanted to fix this broken part on the 5th gear housing and I was seeing where I could take it, but I gave it a go with HTS2000 brazing rods and the result is great. I'll use a stud rather than a bolt now just to be sure, also since the last 10mm of the thread were still good. I actually fixed it with a bolt stuck in and the new threads were formed automatically. Great product!

Well, actually it's already very slightly unlevel. I measured the distance from the ground to the flares and its about 10mm lower on the RHS. I don't mind that cos it doesn't show, as long as it stays like that I'm happy.
