PO has some hack job on the wiring harness under the hood. Already traced down some spliced O2 sensor nonsense and fixed but can not figure out what this unplugged cable goes to. I can not fine any color codes with a red/white stripe and solid yellow cable per FSM and ECU diagrams. Continuity tests are driving me insane. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the help jonheld. The black and white wire goes to nothing currently. I see in the ECU diagram that there is a 3 yellow wire splice for injectors and a red/white for temp sensor BUT the yellow wires are going down towards the transmission tunnel NOT towards the intake manifold. The PO really put a hurting on this wiring harness.

More pics. Solid yellow. Whats killing me is I am getting continuity on several wires on the ecu. Frustrated. I have a feeling I am going to have to start looking for a wiring harness.

The ECU harness has 2 solid yellow wires and 1 yellow/white stripe.
Assuming the ECU side of the harness has not been molested it should be easy to tell what wire was cut.
Connector E4 pin 25 goes to the injectors (solid yellow)
Connector E4 pin 8 goes to the ISC valve (solid yellow)
Connector E6 pin 8 is the ECU signal to the CEL (yellow/white).
There are several yellow/red wires from the EFI relay and a yellow/black from the center diff, but that's it.

My guess is that the PO was looking for +12 for something and hacked into the CEL signal which normally sits at +12 until the ECU throws a logic low to illuminate the lamp. Just a wild guess on my part.

Thank you Jon. I will keep at it and post back what I find.

UPDATE:

Finally found where the connector goes!

The following post helped as well.
So is the A440F a 4 or 5 speed?

With the harness being that messes with I would try and find another used harness in good shape to start over with. Once they get that bad electrical gremlins will likely keep popping up.

I agree. Keeping my eye open. Haven't had much luck finding one.
