****The truck has sold. We're just finalizing the shipping.****
My local insurance monopoly has written off my Cruiser due to a hit and run. Damage is limited to the
rear quarter (sheetmetal, light, bumper end, mudflap). After fighting with the insurance company for a year, I managed to get a decent value for the truck. At this point I can either hand it over, or buy it back.
So, for sale is my 1990 HDJ81 VX 5 speed, with approximately 206000 km.

The ugly (full disclosure):
This has been a fantastic truck. It starts with a quick flick of the key every time. In winter, with the circulating heater on for only two hours, it will start at -40°C with the temperature gauge already near normal operating temperature and heat coming out of the vents.
I have done some very minor wheeling with this capable truck - mostly in the winter. Mickey Thompson tires are excellent all around tires in a near perfect size. Truck has never been abused offroad or on.
5 speed shifts very nicely for a truck. Cruises at 100km/h in fifth gear at 2300rpm. I have cruised the interstate at 130 km/h for hours at a time - very comfortable.
I used to tow a 2000lb tent trailer with the truck and it handled like there was nothing behind it. Loads of power with minimal black smoke.
Truck used to have 35" tires. No rubbing at all - so could easily upgrade back to 35's. I took them off because they were too big for my daily driving usage.
There are currently no comparable LandCruisers on the market in Canada. The typical asking price for an HDJ81 in Canada is $13K-25K.
I have been driving it almost every day since the hit and run. It's such a shame to take this off the road.
Asking $8k. I'm currently driving it, but as soon as I settle with my insurance company, it has to be parked.
