For sale: 1989 FJ62, Proffitts V8 conversion in 2013. Asking $18,500
2005 V8 with 74,000 miles according to Proffits at the time, I have not used this truck anywhere near as much as I should have and it is time to move on. Below are some of the upgrades that were done to the truck that was purchased in 2010 for $4,300. Conversion, gearing, , brakes, etc... approx $17,500 invested. Custom interior $2,500. Stereo $600, plus many other misc costs I haven't added.
All in all there is about $25,000+ in cost to date.

I have driven this truck half way across the US and back as well as trips down to south florida a number of times. This was built to be my daily driver, but I ended up needing a bigger rig. (Sprinter Van) We have four truck in the driveway now and I may consider selling my Wifes GX470 down the road also.

Truck is located in Jacksonville, FL. USA.

The good:
5.3L V8
4L60E Automatic transmission
tuned by Howells
estimated by Proffitts @325-340hp
full length 2-1/2" magnaflow exhuast
California emmissions compliant
electric fans
FJ60 3.70 gearing (this was done for better economy)
FJ60 Third member
Interstate MPG approx 17-18mpg
Rebuilt knuckles (2013)
New Brakes (2013)
New brake booster (2015)
New radiator (2015)
New drive shafts (2013)
a/c converted to r134
Old Man Emu 2.5" Medium Lift (2011)
33x12.50 BFG All Terrains, good tread
15x10 American racing wheels
Cruise control
hidden kill switch
Alpine cd player, blutooth, sirus, and mini app in dash (50 watts), polk and pioneer speakers
Wired Wagon/Wagon Gear ultimate wiring harness for lights
new hella h1 and h4 lights w/100 watt hi beam option
100w hella driving lights wired to high beam. this really lights up the night
lizard skin sound deadening
heat barrier
custom carpet
custom upholstery
approx: 210,000 miles.

Below are a few videos.

v8 has magnaflow muffler, 2-1/2" exhuast

The fixable:

There is a vacuum leak some where that I haven't put much effort into finding. I did replace the hose running to the PCV and that seems to have helped.

Seems to be a slow leak in the a/c compressor. I just recently filled it with store bought freon when needed. Only once since 2013.

Driver and passenger seat suffering from standard seat wear AFTER the new vinyl was applied. I was going to put seat covers over it. Back seat is perfect. two tone leather look with cream inserts.

Small amounts of surface rust, I consider this a "sleeper" I left the outside stock as to not draw to much attention.

Please PM questions if interested.

Thanks,

Lane

I am going to wash and vacuum for some good pics this Sunday. It's the only day I don't work all day. More pics to come. Sorry I just had this one on my phone.
