Update from today is good and bad.
Discovered my clutch slave cylinder is a lump of rust inside. Ordered a new one.
Got the alternator wired, but no "charge" light on the dash. I have a post open on that https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/766833-cs130d-alternator-fj60-wiring.html
Installed the distributer, plugs, wires, put some of that plastic covering over the wires, (need more), verified my wiring to the relay for my HEI distributer works, (connected a battery and got a cough through my open pipes), and then re routed wires, heater hoses, and other stuff to clean it up in there.
I got the accelerator cable installed, drilled the firewall, adapted the Toyota accel pedal arm to mate with the chevy plastic clip. If you are following this post - the accelerator cable I bought is usable, but I would try to find one about 3 inches shorter. I am also not thrilled with the mount on the intake that holds the cable, but it functions. It was on the ensine when I bought it. Something to do when I am bored.
My slave cylinder and low profile fan come in this week, and I have some exhaust pipe pieces here. I should be making an exhaust Saturday, if I can install the fan and slave cylinder during the week.

Big time score! Pro Comps with 33's on craigslist!! One has sidewall plugs, it's gotta go, but the others look great.

Messed around out there today.
fixed the alternator wiring. I have a post on CS130D into Landcruiser, with the details

Fixed the accelerator return spring, it was binding on the choke. It was that way from the previous engine's home in an S10. It worked, I didn't like it.
Installed my new clutch slave and master, but didn't get them totally bled. The conversion has the bleed valve on the bottom of the slave, I think I will have to take it loose from the mount to bleed it properly.
I ordered another matching rim to be a spare, from Summit - about $60 plus $10 for "handling"
Still waiting on my new reverse rotation fan.......kicking myself for not thinking of that.
I poked around with the exhaust too, I think that will be farmed out to a local shop. No pipe bender, and lots of opportunities for that around the transfer case, passenger side. Driver's side is a straight shot back, following the stock path.
I am still grinning ear to ear over finding the wheels I wanted on Craigslist!
I stuck my tag on the back - best part of the whole truck!

Still doing the lift, should be done on Saturday, and then finish the frame.
Building the rest of the engine will take until next spring, and then getting the tranny and friends.

My fan arrives Monday, this weekend is exhaust, bleeding slave cylinder and adjusting clutch, figuring out a top radiator hose, fixing the front sway bar bushing bolt I snapped.......

It was a good day to be me, (aren't they all?)
I got my exhaust pretty done. I like the drivers side, buy I didn't get up as high as I would like on the passenger side above the rear axle. I think I will take that part to a pro. This will get me to the shop and around the block at least.
Clutch is still kicking my butt. I can't get it to move, I don't know if it's the home made actuator rod being too short, or not bled enough. I have the bracket from advance adapters installed, and trying to move the chevy clutch arm.
Fun day, though. I was outside without sunscreen and only my ankles and shins got burned!! Rest of me was under the Landcruiser all day!! HA! Too funny!!

Short update.
Fan finally got here. 18 inch diameter. It hits the lower hose. ordered a new one....be here Monday...really annoyed over this thing. 15 inch should fit without hitting stuff.
Messed with my passenger exhaust, got it curved up and over the rear bump stop elevation and I am happy. Solid as a rock, my friend told me he'd use my exhaust as a tow point when we are out messing around with his jeep. I am declaring victory on the exhaust.
Fixed the dripping speed bleeder on the front caliper - yanked it, replaced with Toyota bleed screw. Speed bleeder is in my toolbox drawer, it doesn't drip now.
My laundry room no longer has Landcruiser parts in it, and my garage is looking cleaner. I must be close to finished!!
I threw my flat tire in the trunk, I will try for a new one during lunch tomorrow.

It's alive!! Buwahhahhaha!!!!
Finally!
I bought a new tire to replace the tire that had the sidewall damage, freakin' ouch! My wallet hurts!
I figured out a lower radiator hose, (Dayco 70399), that fits the 1 3/4 chevy outlet and the stock Toyota radiator connection, cut the last 3 inches off to fit.
Installed the radiator, grill, hoses, battery, battery hold down, hood latch, core support, etc.
Filled and double checked all the fluids, fired it up! It took me priming it with some gas, but it starts right up now when I hit the key.
I still need to figure out my clutch slave cylinder. That is tomorrow.
Have a cracked exhaust donut on the passenger side, makes it loud.
On line, shopping insurance now, so I can drive legally!

Bought some insurance last night on line, no where near as fun as buying other stuff.
My center console came in, that was something I totally didn't need, but my friend has one in his jeep, and I saw some FJ60's with them here, so I treated myself. I will match mark some holes and stick it in the truck when I am bored.
I fixed some exhaust leaks on the passenger manifold today, then started messing with the clutch master/slave. I am totally confident it is bled, but it's not moving the fork. I pulled the 5/16-18 rod I am using for a push rod, and noticed it is slightly bent. I pulled the inspection cover on the clutch, but the rain came and chased me inside right then. I am poking around the FJ40 forum, those guys like keeping the 4 speed, and have some knowledge base. I will figure it out. I welcome any and all hints!!

Clutch slave pic
Here is my clutch slave set up - Advanced adapters bracket, and stock Toyota slave, brand new.
I am using a 5/16-18 threaded rod to push the Chevy clutch fork. It's at a pretty good angle, I think I might yank the bracket off and try to adjust it to push straighter.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Messed with the clutch some more.
I have the throwout bearing about 1/8 inch off the clutch fingers.
It seems like the slave cylinder doesn't stroke long enough to dis engage the clutch, it's moving the rod about 1 1/2 inch maybe?
Any thoughts?

See my build thread as I just went through this, ended up with the wrong stackup height due to the incorrect flywheel and springs on the pressure plate.....I got the correct parts the second time from Advance Adapters....very frustrating, can you turn your slave cylinder over so the bleeder valve is on top to help with bleeding??

I took it off to bleed it - it's bled now.
I really don't want to yank the motor out again.....
Its a stoke chevy flywheel and clutch fork. Toyota slave cylinder, 5/16 threaded rod to push the fork.
I am going to try to move the slave cylinder rod to a hole closer to the pivot, and adjust the master rod play at the pedal next.
I think the throwout bearing needs to move ~0.55 inch to disengage the clutch. I don't know how much the Toyota clutch slave cylinder moves the rod with a normal stroke.

those pics give me some hope.
While I have some good weather, I am focusing on the frame and body. Hope to finish 90% of the frame tomorrow (saturday) and get Rust Bullet on it. Then pull the headliner and look at what rust is up there, maybe even cut out portions of the roof rust clap.
My goal is to finish as much as I can and wrap the rig up in brown tarp for the winter. Then get back onto the engine assembly. Piece by piece.
Just don't have the time I want to spend on it. Also doing some house repair, added siding and painting the new siding.
Oh well, you have a great build going there.

I remember winter - not too much of it down here. We'll get one or three nights near freezing, seems like they always happen near Christmas to make it feel like the holiday season.
I did my house, room by room, over the past 5 years. Nice part of living alone - I had the kitchen ceiling ripped out for a month, open to the attic, no one to complain. Left my workboots at the bedroom door, had to wear 'em for ~3 months while I was doing the kitchen and living room over. Ripped out a wall raised the ceiling, all new drywall. Fun stuff!
Have fun out there, I think of you guys when I am drowning in 90% humidity 95 degree heat!
