I also had a personal driver for years. (Well sorta). I would get some amazing looks from drivers when they would see my young daughter setting on the left side of my Cruiser. I would have her wave at them as they went by. I was very tempted to install a fake steering wheel for her. I even had a couple of cops take a closer look. :)

DDE had the reverse situation - a LHD Cadillac in a RHD environment - but he had to sit in back...

Kay Summersby, Mechanised Transport Corps (British) and later US Army WAC Captain thanks to Ike

Some say a bit more than a driver.

Correct on the facts. She later became his secretary....;)
Lots of opinions on a more personal relationship via Bradley, Montgomery, Truman, etc. Either it didn't happen or it was well managed. :poof:

Ike was the ultimate manager so the latter is much more likely.

Back to the truck, how long is the swap going to take?

Thanks for the tech question....if addressed to me (vs. Chas.) see the Burrito thread. If not, apologies.

To you. been watching that closely, you just happened to be here at the same time I was. I love V8s.

Attention, Attention, Attention........
Rule #1.... Y'all can discuss any internal combustion engine as long as it is a "diesel".
Rule #2.... This includes all Toyota diesels and perhaps the Cummins line of engines. (The 2L-TE may be the exception to rule #2)
Rule #3.... If it was meant for a Chevy or a Buick and the fuel type is commonly referred to as "unleaded", it has no place here.
Rule #4 .... A V8 discussion is acceptable as long as it is a V8 diesel. (See Rule #2)
* Just because you can go from 0-60 in a timely fashion doesn't mean for can ignore rules 1-4.
Thanks for your attention. :moon:

You undoubtedly haven't flown since the 1970's. :)

Um,

When is the "hair dryer" going on the UTE then?

The Intercooler and associated plumbing do-dads should be here before the end of the week. The actual installation should start early next week and once completed, its off to the exhaust guy for the new and larger exhaust. The 2H exhaust manifold and engine bay room (or lack thereof) creates some interesting challenges but that is what makes it fun.

So how about GM V8 diesels as thread discussion fodder? Torfab is installing new Peninsular diesels (Humvee OEMs) in Landcruisers. An option considered for my 73 but the accessories and manifolds wouldn't fit in the engine compartment - at least not without major effort.

Yuk.

Note, protocol followed to the letter vis a vis rules 2 and 4.

While I have no experience with the newer Duramax diesels, G.M.'s historical diesel product line has been sketchy at best.
If it's not a Toyota product, it would have to be a Cummins.

6BT 12 valve. The Energizer Bunny of medium duty diesel power plants. Ugly wrappers however.

Except for this one.....:grinpimp: ...of none.

Post exempt under rule #2...

I don't know .... Am partial to the Cummins ISC in our Haulmark ....

Nice looking 1st Gen Cummins / Dodge Dan!

I bought that new in 1988. It started out as a standard cab. I still have it today, all 22 feet of it.
