Hi, While this sounds good in theory , the liability for the person welding is great. I would not be willing to take on that liability my self. Better to do it your self . Mike

Hey guys,
I will be posting pictures of the 82.The 79 is only the rolling chasis.
After giving it some thought,I deceided to offer the 82 whole (with title) for sale to the highest offer...And then part it out if I have to.Mike is right about the liability part and I also don't want my family running around in something pieced together.I will be starting a new post offering the 82 Whole at first and them part it out (I really don't want to do) if need be.Also the 79 driveline will be list soon too as best offer. Thank you.

Yeh,I'm again going back to waiting for a guy to come take a look at the cruiser frame.
I am just having a hard time letting it go,let alone the low price I would get for it.Just got the rig back last nite and have to change out the wheels, then I will post some pics.I understand the liability of fixing the frame, but if someone jnows what they are doing it should be fine.
So the offer still stands for fixing/replacing the rear frame of my 82 in exchange for 79 Motor/Tranny/T-case/Axles

I am going to have to move this post to the correct section.

Update with Photos

Hello
First, thank you for the replies !

As mentioned,I am having a hard time letting the 82 go and am REALLY in need of someone that can fix him.In the following pics there are shots of the frame that has the main issue (Rotted/cracked/bent) that needs attention. The frame is bad enough that the doors don't shut right and I am taking them off.
I am VERY open to have somebody that is familiar with these try to get it all ready for the road. Also as stated before,I have a rolling 79 frame (that we could use) that has everything still on it.This I am willing to part with if I could get some QUALITY help.
My intentions with the 82 was to get the frame done and drive it for the winter (as you can see winter has started) to work out all the bugs in the driveline (if any, lol) and then to start on it in the spring with a new/er body.I don't ever expect it to be a show piece, rough and tough is good enough for me.
So if anyone out there has any ideas or is willing to do some bartering,I'm ready.
Thanks again in advance !!

I can send my info. via PM and more detailed photos can be taken as well.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why don't you fix up and paint the 79 frame and then do the body work as you move the 81 body over to it... Salvage any good parts from the 81 frame but I'd be wary of repairing a frame with that much work needed unless I rebuilt the entire back half...

I would like to have the back half redone. It was supposed to have been done by now,but the shop changed there mind and now I'm stuck with my winter ride not being my winter ride.Hacking off the 79 frame is not what I am planning on,but if it can be done I will have no choice. The 82 (as ungly as it is) will fire right up and everything works...just need a good fabricator. The body is not worth moving to the 79 either,as I said the 82 was going to be a driveable project once the frame issue was taken care of.Just looking for options right now..an running out of them.

Hi, I'll save anything and try and bring it back but I believe the 82 frame is too far gone. Id concentrate on the 79. 2 cents worth . Mike

I have an excellent 1981 frame that would fit the '82 perfectly. It is just the frame. I live in NC though, but would sell the frame for $900.00...if you're interested.

It's a nice un-molested frame. I am at work tonight, but I can put some up tomorrow.

FJ40-336282 This is a Feb 1981 frame, I bought this from California about 7 years ago with plans for a project I am not going to be able to complete. I am going to sell some other parts as well, but will list them in the 'For Sale' section soon. If you aren't interested in this frame, I will list it too, but you can have first dibs on it if you are. I got your PM, thanks.

I do have more pics I can send you.

You can e-mail me at yearounder@yahoo.com or PM on here.

UPDATE: FREE 74 FJ40 (305V8) or/and 79 Rolling chassis !?

Yes I mean that !!
No,I have not found anyone to help with my 82 project yet.

Please check out my other thread on here for the 74 (v8) $3500 (I have not been able to post pictures, but can email them).

I am willing to GIVE my v8 fj40 (project) to a QUALIFIED,experienced fj40'er..That can get mine looking and running respectable.

Also still have the rolling 79 chassis, but not parting it out yet until I find the "One" that can help me out. Might aslo be willing to throw that in as well.

So,To sum it up:
82 fj40 (as listed above) help for (possibly): 79 rolling chassis & 74 v8 FJ40s.....any bites contact me and I can email all the photos you need!

Thanks
Toyoder
